Ranjeet Rajwada: Bringing the old school ghazal back to the limelight

It is no coincidence that Zee TV's Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar's youngest contestant Ranjeet Rajwada is popularly known as the 'Prince of Ghazals'. This young lad from Jaipur must have been on cloud nine following the fantabulous praise he received from acclaimed music composer Vishal Bharadwaj that will be aired on this Friday's episode. After listening to Ranjeet's ghazal performance, an appreciative Vishal Bharadwaj said that "Ghazals come in and out of trend every 25 to 30 years. They were in vogue at my time and today after listening to you, I think that the time of the ghazals has come back!" Vishal also advised Ranjeet to continue singing ghazals no matter what other forms of music he may dabble with.

With a rich voice that belies his seventeen years of age, Ranjeet Rajwada seems to have already carved out a niche for himself after having shared a stage with some of the best in the music industry like Lata Mangeshkar & Sonu Nigam. The President's award that he won in the year 2005 also adds to the impressive credentials that he has to his name.

Such high praise from one of the stalwarts of the Indian music industry and that too at such a young age is truly a trademark of supreme talent! This reinforces the stature of young talent brought to the limelight on the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa platform.
