I haven't watched the episode, but apparently these days, a girl can lose her dignity, self-respect, character etc etc.. simply by a guy touching her biceps 😕

It's her perogative whether she wants to be touched or not, but some people make it out as if being touched by a guy is akin to being stripped, not all touching is sexual/vulgar!

It's got nothing to do with her being concious of Indian culture, she just isn't comfortable with such antics infront of a large audience due to her shy and timid nature.

What's wrong with a guy and a girl simply hugging?, the country loves to watch romantic movies, it's all good in the movies, but not in real life?, bit hypocritical, what about Radha Krishna and the Gopis?, part of Indian culture, no?

So John must be the greatest culprit and planting a kiss on Sugandha, but I think Zee themselves love to promote love and drama for TRP, thus Zee crosses all social boundries and codes.
Even Mentors n VIP guests behaving badly has been brought up.

Sometimes what happens on stage are either predecided TRP acts as well as sponteneous acts by guest judges...

Anamika to your last post...In this case it applies to alll....When u get caught ofguarded by someone or something it is hard to control or be rude...
For so called claim of India VS US....Culture is culture and trust me youth these days in India are far more advanced than westerners....SO lets not make this a debate of India VS US....or western countries... Touche
Some girls are more confident in the way they canhandle themselves better than the others...Sniti is a timid person so that is her normal reaction....
It does not make her a better person just because she pulled herself away...How u handle the situation differs from person to person...
I think most female contestants have behaved properly to most situations.. Rini has allowed a whole lot more IMHO...Not because she is from Canada...She could have been from India...This is just her personality...

Agree!!
This is a singing show and every contestant has a unique personality , some are more reserved than the others and as long as a decorum is mantained - anyone can come across as dignified. I find it funny when indo-western cultural dynamics enters a discussion when the whole event is being staged in India - cast, crew, writers, producers et al 😉
Peace...

No offense but I watch this show, only because of Sniti. She is not only a dignified singer but also a well cultured girl. Even if she is not winning but still will be remembered for a long time.

Yes we should not comment about the characters of the various contestants here; unless it is obvious and too much.

Certain things are scripted by Zee and they make use of Sugandha and Rini to the utmost. Zee just exploits them for drama.
But yes Sniti seems more reserved and more serious compared to the other girls. I guess she does feel awkward to behave like a Bollywood actress.
The nature of her song selections say it all.
But Zee wants to lure her into other genres too.

It is very sad to see people change their yardsticks so soon when it comes to their favourites.
It seems like this time around Sugandha is involved so all are trying to demean Sniti.

Not in a mood to post those. I am just in this thread as it is said that hugging, touching and kissing is ok and nothing wrong in it.
And some people even changing their yardstick to suit their favourites.
