I have listened to the song carefully many times and honestly I don't agree with the poster that she changes her voice within the song or with sajid who said that. She did not. She had the same voice.

Having said this let me also clarify that strangely this is the first saregamapa season where I have no hot-shot favourites yet. Very strange because it has always been the case so far. This time it is very strange. None of the singers have really grown on me. The only person who has that quality seems to be sniti and to a lesser extent ali sher because they are original and unique but they have not managed to do so with me at least because they are not consistent and in some songs sniti's different voice quality frankly sounds totally inapt!!

So I have ended up just appreciating the singer who does full justice to his or her song and brings out that connect between the singing and me such as khurram and bishakh in the parents episode, sniti in some mesmerizing songs and so on and alisher in some episodes with flawless renditions of nusrat.

So in all fairness today I heard sugandha because of the accusations against her in this thread and found that she is not guilty in my opinion.

By the way I quite like kamal's voice and renditions in general.

The point brought up by judges during the Saturday episode with regard to change in voice within the same song in Sugandhas performance was a good point and well dealt with.

the texture of the voice cannot be allowed to change within the same song sung by the same character in the same vein,

unless its a drama or comedy event where the singer is purposely told to change the texture

unless the same person is portraying a different character or mood and it is necessary to show it

sugandha has got so used to changing her voice texture she has lost control over this special ability of hers.

for the song that she was singing that day - it was not necessary

otherwise, she is immensely talented, no doubt

again, my opinion

She sang BEAUTIFULLY😊 Even my mom loved sugandha's rendition of the song "aayi ye aap", it was marvellous, all the judges also applauded her except wajid, I dont agree with whatever Wajid said, good that Vishal backed up & made things clear.

donot blame wajid, my favourite MD. it was in reply to vishal comments on rini's singing sajna ve sajna to sing in her own voice. sugandhha sang the same song in different voice but rini sang the same song in one voice only even then vishal commented adversely. now why he has contradicted his own statement. its called double standard to protect own constestants as mentors. nothing wrong in it then nothing wrong what wajid said. 😃

sugandhha should sing a song in one voice. she should not change voice in a song. but if she change her voice for different songs then she is welcome. her singing is different than mimicry act. that should not be combined while assessing her singing. she is multi talented and trained classical singer. if she do mimicry or told to do mimicry, it should be welcome and regarded as her multi faced talent. nothing wrong in it. she is already a singing star. keep it up sugandhha. jiyo👏

i watched that performance repeatedly but found the song in one voice

best performance

dama dam mast kalender

emotional song: bisakh (parents day)

my liking

: nigahe milane ko (by sniti)

unique voice: sniti

most versatile singer: sugandha

sureelee voice: sugandha

why sugandha is under-rated:

because she can sing any song easily, either qwaali,. or ghazal, or light classic, or classic or bollywood song, or folk song or sufi song which was proved on first day when sugandha was best performer among 18 singers for her classical song on 4th of sept.10

This is the problem for every best singer.

When no mistake was found, then, wajid said, you are not singing but imitating

sajid said there was no mastana pan in your song

when she tried to sing bole re papihara in her own original voice, then, shekhar said, please sing more classical the word papihara

this girl is struggling badly in this competition in spite of his best of best performances

simultaneously sniti is being over-hyped and over-rated whereas all the judges will say politely that you missed surs badly but does not matter, we like your voice

summary:

If sniti has unique voice

then, sugandha also has her own sureelee voice and it is not rented from any store so that

already bought voice had programming in her throat with an option of imitate

This is extra qualification given by god in her throat

why should she not use to save her song whenever she needs
