what he meant was there should be silence in ones singing. Its kind of true for the song chura liya...if u do too much to the song, it would ruin it. The beautiful thing abt the song was that when u hear it, you can only clearly listen to asha's singing, the music kinds of fades away. In a way its silence which only showcases asha bhonsle's voice in that song.

same goes for 2days tinka tinka song....it needed silence or what is it they say "tehraav" only then the singer will shine.

He likes to think of himself as a (psuedo) -"intellectual".😛. So it was a very intellectual comment from him, with no expectation to be understood by less-priviledged.😃
