JaspalToronto ji hope you are doing good. This year I see many good talents.
Test comes when they have to sing other songs which they have not practised enough and need to memorise the tunes and lyrics etc.

This girl reminds me also of Naina Saxena in challenge 2009. Another very gifted singer.

When she started her song, it was just like Alka Yagnik! Though, later on, the voice definitely got individualized. But, yes, she did remind me of Alka Yagnik esp when she sang the higher notes.

Thanks for the link Summerji.
Yes she does sound like Alkaji, especially in the alap at the beginning.

I can see how you think that way. She does in a way, but then she doesn't! I know that's confusing. If you really concentrate on her voice and really go into the technicality then there is no similarity.

But when you first hear her, the first thing that jumped to my mind was a resemblance not only to Alka ji but also to Kavita ji.

I actually thought she sounded alot like Torsha Sarkar from last years Indian idol

i liked loved Torshas voice so i like maampee
and i think both there voices do sound liek Alka

Torsha and Mampi!!! 😵

Torsha was awfully besuri. Mampi was (and hopefully will be) just awesome!

Mampi likes to sing and better at Asha Bhonsle's songs. I'd seen and, of course, heard her for months on Bengali SRGMP a couple of years ago. She easily reached the finale, and then, for some unknown reason, never showed up.

Oh Boy MG I am totally with you on Torsha and her besura voice 🥱 Many loved her singing and stage presence but I felt she was never singing in her voice...Something was very fake abt it...🤢
Mampee is a good singer by all means but this song I have heard a much much better rendition by Nihira during C-05...Dont mean to compare and mampee was no where close to it...Although very good try...😳
Mampee did not remind me of Alka either...Yeah may be at first instance people might think that...But I dont see any similarities...
Best wishes to her...
