Okay then ...

po*n? I mean seriously? Granted to each his own, but there has to be some level of morality in tact there, right? po*n, strip clubs, prostitution - I am against anything that allows people to sell their bodies to make money. What person in their right mind watches po*n? Apparently, the ones that are desperate for some and aren't getting any.

Entertainment, my butt, if people had some amount of morality left in their minds, they'd find another way to entertain themselves.

What is one good reason why po*n, strip clubs or prostitution is morally repugnant? Why should selling a physical commodity like body be illegal? What different is it from a person selling their skills, their time, sometimes their conscience for employment?

It is a personal choice. It harms no one (I am speaking of willing people). If a man or woman is willing to have sex for money and another man or woman is willing to pay for it. It is a transaction for sex between two consensual adults. As long as it is safe and willing, no one is harmed. As long as they are not deceiving or lying to loved ones, no one is harmed. Why does society feel that this has to be morally wrong?

Speaking of po*n, it is not just entertainment, sometimes it is physical needs too. It is better to view po*n than to force someone to have sex or have sex when one is not ready for it. Also regarding po*n, what if it is animated po*n and no one is 'selling' their body. What do you say about that?

Sarina and Ajnu: calm down! You don't want all types of characters descending down to get a piece of this. Trust me. Cease and desist!

I understand both sides of the argument and just like any other debate nothing could be proved or disproved unless supported by facts and numbers.
I will, however, say a couple of things:
Po*n (soft-core and hardcore) is for Mature audience only. It's rightly rated MA on all TV channels.
It's my belief that nobody willingly gets into prostitution. So, by all means necessary, it should be discouraged.
Strip clubs are one step above prostitution but I have heard that some college girls do it for supporting their studies so I am divided on that.
You will not, probably, hear from me on this topic again.

OK. What the heck, I will add a couple of more sentences to the above:
a. Sarina's views on this topic are radical. Not many can digest them much less appreciate them. If you take a poll, probably she will be in the minority.
b. Ajnu's views on this topic are more or less black and white.
c. My views are at a median point.

Oh man, Mister K, its okay. Calm down! 😆 See, Sarina and I are very good friends, but we hold very very opposing beliefs, our schools of thought are different, our perspectives are different, and to some extent the way we view this world is totally different. But that does not stop our friendship. However, when we debate, we do it seriously ... everyone freaks out and thinks that the debate is becoming personal and two friends are fighting, but we are definitely not. Its just a discussion. If you had taken my invite to the debate mansion seriously, you'd know it. 😆

So, please, by all means, feel free to join us. :) We enjoy these discussions ... that's why we come here. And we haven't had one of these in a while. 😆
