The music contest 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge' on Zee is gearing up for the finals. The top slot is reserved for the three finalists - Hemchandra, Himani and Vineet as participant Debojit Saha will be ousted out this week.

Hemchandra states nervously, "I am hoping for a miracle. Everything depends on the public vote and my performance." He has already sung for composer Adesh Srivastav's forthcoming film 'Alag'. "Adeshji trained me to project my voice in the microphone and about the finer nuances of a public performance," says Hemchandra.

Himani, the most buoyant of the three, feels, "The boys will battle amongst themselves, while I will have to prove my individual worth." She is indebted both to Adesh and his wife Vijeta Pandit for having fine-tuned her talent. Himani has sung three numbers for the Sushmita Sen starrer 'Chingari' and has recorded a song each with composers Lalit, Raju Singh and Himesh Reshmaiyya. "I would like to do something for the illiterate in my hometown Faridabad if I win this contest," says the spirited girl.

Young Vineet, whom Kapil Dev fondly referred to as 'topiwala Tendulkar', gets candid, "Hemachandra and Himani are better singers than me." He is deeply indebted to mentor Reshmaiyya. "Whatever I am today is because of Himeshji. He helped me find my own voice. I used to mimic Rafi Saab and Sonu Nigam before." Vineet is nonchalant about failure or defeat, "I have achieved more than I ever dreamt of. I will be happy if I win, but even if I don't, I'm here in Mumbai for good."

I am confused, some people say Himani will be out, some say Debojit will be out. I hope Vineet is out!

I am soo shocked that Nihira is out 😭 this show has gone down in qualtiy...everything is now commercialized and all the emotional crap has been added.

I been watching Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for years and the show has always been about the music. Now, its all about everything but the music.

I have serious doubts about the voting and the politics involved in this show...just don't even feel like watching it anymore...wish the best for Nihira, a true singer.

I am new to this forum, but have been watching SAREGAMAPA for past 5 years.
As far as Challenge 2005 is concerned, I feel the voting system itself is not right. They should have brought in people who are veterans in music as judges. Lay man easily gets influenced by the days performance and the choice of the song and comments made by the mentors. If the show is looking only for a singer then Nihira should definitely have been in. If they are also looking for a performer (since they would be making an albumn with the winner), then Himani or Twinkle would be a more apt choice since they are good at performance also.
Gajendra Singh should restrict the comments made by mentors to be shown on national tv. For ex. Himesh Reshamiyya constantly keeps talking about Vinits GF and other stuff not related to music. The platform is to promote a singer who deserves to win the competition, but not to help somebody to get his love or popularity in the name of love and topi. Himesh Reshamiyya said on record that HemaChandra has no universal appeal and is not a threat. This is a disgraceful remark for a person who is sitting on mentors chair. I hope they get this message before it is too late and this show turns out like other musical reality shows, where besuras win the competition and then fade out shortly.
No matter who wins from which gharana, we need a deserving singer out of this competition.

A couple of things: It was all the while Vinit's lover and now he introduced his mother. Debo's mother's last wish was to see him as singer. what is all this nonsense? Why the mentors and others are playing with the precious emotions of people (Debo's mother). They are actually making fun of it instead of respecting. Now do we make Debo win coz his mother wanted him to win? Does that mean all other mothers would want all their kids to LOSE? What rubbish? And who is this guy ID challenging Ooperwaala and defying death etc. who was that guy who was sitting beside Nihira's mom and crying like a baby (Nihira's mom was alright and this guy was all tears like someone was dead)

What is this Vinit's achche sanskaar? haan? He did something that normally no 17 year old should be doing. He fell a girl in love and thats what he did. And his mother and others boast him of achche gun? hehehehe I don't know how people can be blind man! Achche sanskaar ..haaaaaa! His mother spoke for what looked like an eternity.

I agree we indians are emotional but now this is being foolish ok?? Hema's voice and control on sur was beyond comparison. Folks ..all are good singers and Hema is extra-ordinary.

i think the talented singers like vinit, should not take help of is love drama created by his mentor "himesh reshmiya" and debu should not take help of his good work for vrudhashram and late mom. guys this is kind of baging....stop it....those who sings well should win....according to me and i guess millions....nihira joshi...hema...swananda...sanchari...hemani...sharib are the real winner.....dear gajandra singh please make real saregamapa in 2006...dont copy american idol.bcos public is not the real judge.if u make real authentic show u can give shreya gosal, kinal etc.

My first ever post! We all are allowed to have our own favourites, doesnt mean we have to bitch about the other contestants (Excuse me, Mr. Reshammiya, I am not sure if you deserve to be called a mentor for saying "hemachandra doesnt have universal appeal and he is not a threat" YEAH RIGHT!) . According to me, Hemachandra and Himani are THE most talented among the lot. Although, Nihira is out now, she is the closest to these two.
Its a great show with some amazing talent (hope its not fixed like some people say, although i have my doubts ever since there was a tie between hema and nihira).
I hope the audience judge the singers for their talent rather than their "love" or mothers. I respect certain contestants's mothers wishes, but every mum would wish the same for their son AND at the age of 17, 18 most of us are in LOVE (i prefer to call it infactuation)!
MAY THE BEST PERSON WIN!

Hey saregamapa fan .. tum sirf fan ho ..ghoom te rehjaaoge bhayya .. (or maybe behna ..i dunno). Vinit is a good singer no doubt. But how did you compare Hema with Vinit and say Vinit is better? And do you watch teh show properly? Get your data correct ok? Are you the clan of HR by chance? Did he send you to counter comments against Vinit? Hema is the only guy in all the participants who got a green consistently in the initial rounds without a single yellow. Go check the records ..it is only after the HR sick involvement and to see south doesnt get much recognition all that happened. And then Hema (despite all the ones present there discouraging him to win) due to public came on top with highest votes. Where did you get your data bhayaa I mean maybe behna. And Hema practices real music since 13 years and then commended by none other than Lata, AR Rehman, Kumar Sanu and SP balu. You liking Vinit is ok buddy but just to make him win quoting wrong info and data like HR takes sahara of every damn emotion (it is actually in a way a emotional blackmail of public). Stop that kind of posts ok? Learn to support good talent. not just supporting other parameters. I doubt if you ever heard Hema sing. 😕
