Hello again,
Nihira is a tremendous talent. Personally, I feel as if she appears bashful as she sings. More so, I feel as if she almost feels she should not be there. My point is the following: I would like to see Nihira take command of the stage just once. Unlike Himani who consistantly envokes awe, Nihira must learn to command the stage.
Of course the girl from haryana exudes (over)confidence on stage while trying to mimick the songs cautiously chosen by her mentor. I doubt her ability to chest the ribbon in a marathon run of proving as a successful playback singer. There are much of technical glitches, which can only be overcome by a lot of preseverance coupled with an equal amount of hard work and off course (within the paramaters of voice quality, bestowed by the great Almighty) inherent quality. Of these, she is still to prove in the former two and the final is not as to make her fortunate enough. As of your saying that nihira lacks when it comes to taking command of stage, I fully agree with you. She absolutely is not made for the ramp. She just suits the recording cabinet--ears wrapped with headphones and eyes closed. Might be she is in awe of the stage or she be a bit of traditional or sligtly more (than especially himani) deep into her singing. As of performance, I am yet to make up my mind , whether it is acting, putting emotions, groin thrusts or leaving mic. to engage both hands in drawing pictures in air that truely constitutes it. Can anybody, who can think unbiasedly, tell a single occasion when himani did any of the above quoted things or whatever to be called a true performer??? Doesn't she struggle when a smooth change of sur is required--with eyes closed, trying hard to catch it on the one hand and not let her husky voice break free from her struggled control?? You all western inspired out there, who think she is a performer like britney or more appropriately shakira or JLo should invariably vote for the girl who has to learn foot tapping as well along with the subtleties of singing.
I am not for nihira and neither against himani. But it is for the superstitious faith shown towards himani, even when she doesn't deserve it--by her mentor as well as her fans. Nihira too has some really great shortcomings, hope her fans' faith in her doesn't turn superstitious...
