^^^^ @Ajnu, I also have the same policy when it comes to food!! LOL... Something that others in my circle of family and friends dont understand!!! Yes, I am with you - we should not bring religion into this... I was trying to find some examples as this issue was mentioned about Debolina... I am trying to think where I have heard this name before?! I guess it's a common name in W.Bengal...

Shalini reminds me of Yashita. She has the winning ingredients and is a great entertainer.

Yeah everything else except Singing , in a singing competetion !! 😆

on a serious note, I think she really needs to work hard on her singing - other contestants are much better than her in singing at this point !!

Haha....yep. On top of that, Yashita had the low thick? voice to fill out her songs. Shalini has a kid's voice. The only thing that helps her be an entertainer is her stage presence. Beyond that, she doesn't really have much going for her.

Bazy, I didnt watch that limelight episode... So I am going with what you are saying and what ROA had said here... I dont know what religion or faith Debolina belongs to. I thought Debolina is a muslim too, from the way she acted in her promo ad... 😕 Some faiths prohibit one from accepting or wearing or consuming religious items from others... I dont know how to explain this... For example, in Islam I am sure one wouldnt eat the offerings from the temples nor wear the taawis from the Hindu priests... Same way protestant christians wont accept offerings from other religions - it's considered disrespectful towards their faith... So Debolina might have had a reason like that - did she say why?

Yeah i understand that my post was respecting all faiths irregardless of personal beliefs but i agree with ur post as well. debolina didn't give a reason but u do see flashbacks of her at the masjid with tawees when she got eliminated. wish her luck for future.

ps guys apologies for bringing religion into the discussion it should just be about music and the show will keep that in mind from now on

I haven't seen that episode either. In fact, consider yourself lucky that I have seen the actual episodes (finally😆 - though i still haven't seen saturday's). Anyways, point is that this is a little kid, and such things should not matter. Kids do not do things out of bad intentions, perhaps she was unsure, or perhaps she felt weird. Whatever the case, concentrate on her singing.

And what Akanna di has said is right, many religions don't accept things from other religions, rightfully so. But I have a very nice policy in tact in these situations - if its food, especially mithai, I take it, no matter what religion its from. Afterall, food should not be wasted, eh? 😉😆

And Akanna di, Debolina is definitely not a Muslim name. I'd say its clear a Hindu name, but not that it matters - why bring religion into all this?

agree with bold statement

LOL 😆 @underlined that a very good policy

Therefore when she comes on stage, holds the mike with confidence, performs, one is left wondering where she brings all this confidence from. However, there are so many better singers on that stage, that performing well just isn't enough. Therefore, Shalini needs to get her act together, and concentrate on singing. And these judges need to tell her that, instead of praising her all the time.

And I enjoyed Debolina's Kajra Mohabbat Waala, I thought her "kajre ne le li meri jaan" was adorable.

At the bolded >>>>

Shalini's acts are fine, she is only a little gal...its not her fault she is a brilliant performer and amazes everyone with her confidence level...i always wonder why confident gals are the least liked...for example Mauli was bashed alot during her days, Twinkle and Yashita....all these gals have been bashed the most..and they all have one thing in common in them - all of the were the most confident gals on the stage during their time....now shalini is getting bashed for the same reason....i dont understand why girls being projected more confident than others are not generally well liked???

Besides she is not the only one the judges praise eh? its not like she is the only one that gets a clapping ovation and the rest sitting? the judges are not biased...if someone sings/performs well they get their ''deserved praise'' it doesnt come free! ...i dunno why this gal is getting all kinda remarks just cos Alka gifted her a cosmetic box..what fault is it of hers> and big deal she was the only one that got it...others may get something else in the coming weeks

Performing well and sounding confident is never a minus...if it could help your stage presence then why not use it to the max? so far her performances have been of a high standard...and we still havent seen much of her. She would fix her sur and taal with Practice...but confidence and performance comes naturally which most lack and she has that plus point that many cant have despite having perfect sur and taal

😊

Xoxo

^ I do agree that confident girls do get more than required critique from the audience which is not fair...Its like a confident person is always put down for some reason. And somehow its always with girls whereas with boys its admirable and appreciated, maybe thats how the wrold is. As for Shalini I do admire her confidence and stage presence, she doesn't need to work on that as she has it all in her. Right now she just needs to concentrate on singing better than her competitors which I am sure she must be doing so. She has it in her, she shouldn't lose focus with the show ppl trying to portray her as a pretty girl rather than a good singer...

One reason why it might be is because generally at this age girls come out much more confident than boys. I mean whenever we talk about a good performance at this age, its given generally by girls while boys generally give the "cute factor". Now cuteness generally wins over everything hands down !😆 So we'd always say that this girl might have lost her innocence so early, etc, etc !

Secondly, why confidence with boys would be therefore appreciated more is because it comes once a while while girls are like always confident !

(What i am saying above is not based on this show only, i am talking in general !)

I am not saying this is a valid enough justification, just trying to find a basis as to why this happens😊

Yup ! She also has to show her versatility.

Secondly, lets just also agree that shalini is quite the weak link in there. But yeah the confident performers doing badly always receive more criticism than the unconfident bad performers. Maybe its simply because one can blame everything on the fact that "he/she is concentrating only on performance" !
