Hi everyone. 😊

I feel despite this being a musical section there are hardly any musical topics except moshi who only promotes Md. Rafi ji, who ofcourse could be described as the father of music just like hippocrates who is known as the father of medicine.

Before talking about music, what is music to you? why is music important in your personal life? Music is the art of arranging tones in an orderly fashion to produce a unifold and continuous compostion. Music holds no boundaries and has no concrete meaning for any one person. For musicians, music is life. Music is unique in each person's life. So my first question to everyone on this musical forum is

1 - what is music to you? For me music is relaxation and the tunes, melodies, rhythm that music brings to my heart and soul sometimes arouses strong emotion and feeling.

Now Past: Present And the Future.

In the past there have been great legends that have contributed to industry and without such legends the definition of music itself would be incomplete...one such legend from past is Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle and ofcourse Moshi's favourite Md. Rafi Ji. They are a class themselves and nobody could touch them or imitate them. They are the past, present and future themselves.

Second question

2 - who do you admire from past? dedicate any songs of such legends to any member of this forum. and what do you think of the current state of music? take for example Himesh reshmaiya! ( i wont waste my time on him)

And finally any contestants from the saregampa contest that could be considered as the future of music? i would name Nihira Joshi here.

Hope you find this thread enjoyable.

Thank you. 😊

XoXo

well, its the same thing for me! 😃😃

Now Past: Present And the Future.

In the past there have been great legends that have contributed to industry and without such legends the definition of music itself would be incomplete...one such legend from past is Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle and of course Moshi's favourite Md. Rafi Ji.saab ko ji mat bana do yaar😉 They are a class themselves and nobody could touch them or imitate them. They are the past, present and future themselves.

Second question

1.I admire rafi saab as u know.😉
2.Dedicated to - ajnu : do sitaaron ka zameen
summer: din dhal jaaye
roa:dhal gaya din
cal gal : yeh ladka hai allah
hira: abhi na jaao chodkar

3.current state of music.. lets see:
A.Positive aspect:
it still has ppl like shankar mahadevan,ar rahman and vishal shekhar who make good music

B.Negatives:
Himesh
a song needs hype to be popular.. example.. barso re megha and haule haule.. 2 extremely crappy songs which were blared 24/7 on all music channels, movie preiviews,tv ads for movies,etc..
good songs AREN'T hyped that much
CHAKKA MANIA- more of a personal dislike for punjabi music from my side
more dance numbers
ppl either dont know how to blend in good songs with the current cinematography(or picture quality if they arent the same.. i dunno much abt movies).. or they feel that dance numbers can be done better than melodies
pritam has tried to be original and has failed
singer selection based more on ploitics perhaps..
DUETS!!! since when have we heard good solid duets.. even in main agar kahoon shreya had only 1 line😲😡
even ad jingles like paas aao na and ruki se zindagi se and the knightriders ad are better than some of the s*** we hear now
to end it, i'll say that
its probably like the economic cycle where theres a recession then stabilisation.. probably we'll have to wait for the boom.. let ppl get sick of dance numbers and want good songs... problem is that the decent songs were made by sel , pritam,v/s and rahman ..
sel and v/s :shifted dance no's
pritam: said it already
rahman: sufi based..

And finally any contestants from the saregampa contest that could be considered as the future of music? i would name Nihira Joshi here.
anwesha datta, aishwarya majmudar, abhilasha venkatachellam , abhas joshi, nihira joshi (moshi likes these 2 joshis ... hates toshi and prasoon joshi tho) aneek dhar, zaheer abbas, amanat ali.

Hope you find this thread enjoyable.
a long time since i've seen a good thread😊 ... ajnu's are usually good but she writes too much so i get bored and fall asleep😳.. no offence😛
you've been here only a few days and already are my favourite member 😃

Thank you. 😊

1 - what is music to you?
For me, music is one's soul itself - it contains all the emotions of human beings... It can trigger any emotions in us as well - some music make us cry, some make us laugh and dance, some make us angry, and so on... So music has a close connection to one's life and heart, IMHO...
2 - who do you admire from past? dedicate any songs of such legends to any member of this forum. and what do you think of the current state of music? take for example Himesh reshmaiya! ( i wont waste my time on him)
Many from past and present. The list will be too long... Some of them are Lataji, Ashaji, Rafiji, Kishoreji, Yesudas, Kavithaji, Chitra, Shreya, Anuradha Padwal, Alisha, Shankar, KK, and so on...
I will do the dedications some other time... 😃

And finally any contestants from the saregampa contest that could be considered as the future of music? i would name Nihira Joshi here.
I would like to see (I can only hope for this as we cannot predict anything) Vaishali Made, Poonam Yadav, Amanat Ali, Prathibha, Anamika (LC2), and all make an impact in the future... Just wishing...

Hope you find this thread enjoyable.
Sure I did. Thank you for this topic! 😃

Thank you. 😊

For me music is what completes me!! It's what keeps me going all day long, it has all the emotions that i'm feeling no matter what it is each time. It's my chicken soup for my soul!!

From the past though there are many my favorites will be Lata ji, Rafi Saab, SD & RD Burman and Asha ji. Dedications are basically my favorite songs and are dedicated to all the members.

Lata ji - Lag Ja Gale Ke Phir Ye Haseen Raat Ho Na Ho
Rafi Saab - Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujh Par
SD Burman - Ye Raatein ye Mausam Nadi Ka Kinara
RD Burman - Piya Bawri from Khoobsurat
Asha ji - Ye Kya Jagah Hai Doston

Present State : Vishal Shekhar, Shankar Ehsan Loy 👏

Pritam, Himesh 🤢

And finally any contestants from the saregampa contest that could be considered as the future of music? i would name Nihira Joshi here.

Poonam Yadav, Nihira Joshi, Smita (LC), Anwesha Datta, Aishwarya Majumdar, Jayen (SVOI Chote Sarkar) I am forgetting the name of the contestant from Junoon Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka he was in RFAK's group. Will come back and edit once I figure out his name.

Hope you find this thread enjoyable. -- Absolutely!! Great thread!

Thank you. 😊

1 - what is music to you?😃
i don't think i can answer WHAT music is but i'll try....
music is a medium through which one can express any kind of feel...whether it's love, pain, grief, joy, etc...

it soothes ur brain, relaxes ur mind, and some songs hold the capacity to take ur mind to a different world...it depends on what kind of music u're listening to.

My fav. genre is R&B coz I prefer songs with light beats, unlike Rock music and I find them pretty melodious and soothing. Examples: Crush by David Archeluta, Unfaithful by Rihanna. I don't think bollywood songs really are categorized into such kind of genres but I like songs like Tum Se Hi, Tu Meri Dost, Oh Meri Jaan, etc...don't know if they share a common field.

2 - who do you admire from past? dedicate any songs of such legends to any member of this forum. and what do you think of the current state of music? take for example Himesh reshmaiya! ( i wont waste my time on him)

I don't really possess much knowledge about past artists like KK, Md Rafi and whoever u guys keep talking about. The only ones I know about are Sonu Nigam, KK, Udit Narayan, Lucky and a few others and among females, Shreya, Sunidhi, Alka, etc...

dedications?😃😉

😆😆You made it sound like Mochi ( a very famous chain of shoe stores in India), its actually Moshai (its a bengali word which means Mr. I guess), U r such a fav of Moshai that he ignored u calling him Mochi oops Moshi😉😆😆, aur koi (????) galti karta tau he would have been really pissed off 😉😆, now to answer what u asked..

1 - what is music to you? For me music is relaxation and the tunes, melodies, rhythm that music brings to my heart and soul sometimes arouses strong emotion and feeling.

Its like a hobby for me and I somehow find time to enjoy it no matter what, I simply love good music of all kinds- it spreads love and makes us human I believe😊

Second question

2 - who do you admire from past? dedicate any songs of such legends to any member of this forum. and what do you think of the current state of music? take for example Himesh reshmaiya! ( i wont waste my time on him)

So many great songs such as Chalo dildar chalo, Zindagi kaisi hai paheli, Chingari koi bhadke... n the list just goes on, great compositions.. n very soothing music with soulful rendition.

Dedications:
Hyra: Sathiya Sathiya..😳 - welcome back🤗
NF: Mustafa mustafa😃
Ajnu: E ajnabee tu bhi kanhi
CG: Massakali 😉
Summer: Tum se accha kaun hai😉
Shez: Har ghadi badal rahi hai rup Zindagi
Obj: yahoo, chahe koi mujhe jangali kahe😆
finally..
to you: na jane kaha se aayi hai, naa jane kaha ko jayegi😃
I like the music of nowadays as well ( not much a fan of Reshamia though) but there are so many variety to enjoy from for everyone... I like some peppy numbers as well as the melodious ones. Great music had been made in every era.. its just that the definition of great can vary from person to person😊

And finally any contestants from the saregampa contest that could be considered as the future of music? i would name Nihira Joshi here.

Aneek Dhar, Poonam Yadav, NIhira Joshi, Amanat Ali, Vaishali Made ( I don't watch other shows so can't name from there)

Hope you find this thread enjoyable.
Sure-thanks.

Thank you. 😊
