Lets begin with the statement "Rehman is the best". He is the master of music and is anytime ahead of his contemporary music directors. And his achivements should not be brought down at any cost. We should be happy for him and be proud of him.

Having said that i feel recently i have not got connected to his compositions very much. Even though his compositions are still the best of the music coming out , but it seems he has lost his magical touch that I heard in Roja or Bombay or music back then by him.

On the contrary some of the compositions like Tareen Zameen Par of SEL , Life in a Metro of Pritam or Om Shanti Om of VS or the Sufi sngs of Kailash Kher touched me much more.

I believe the soulful singing that we used to find in earlier Rehman songs are no mroe there like Piya Haji Ali or Roja Janeman or Yeh jo Desh hein tera and so on. Its more of instruments/hip hop contents and loudness and less stress on lyrics and melody. May be slowly mediocrisy is taking over for him too.

I feel the same...not able to connect with his recent music and I'm finding others better. But I personally don't think he's "the best". I believe others can be considered better than him or at least equal to him.

As far as ARR goes, he's a wonderful musician. And there's no question in that unless you don't consider Roja, Dil Se, Taal, Lagaan, etc. musical hits. In that case, you should come have a talk with me and I'll show you the light. 😉😆 Now having said that, is ARR God? No, most definitely not. Does ARR's talent indicate that no other musician can produce equally talented work. Absolutely not. Does it mean that whatever ARR will produce will be a masterpiece, again, no it doesn't.

But this doesn't mean that ARR's talent is any less or that any of the great songs he's given us lack luster. Sure everyone's entitled to their opinion, but for some reason I feel that people just need a place to bash ARR for whatever unknown reason.

Oh yeah, this should really help your cause, I sympathize with you, poor you, can't get PMs. And babe, if you get banned it won't be because the mods aren't taking your side, it'll be cuz MIDs aren't allowed here. So save the sob stories and spare us the drama.

Wish we could say that about Rehman too, but we've got better MDs than him.😊
