^^ well akanaa ki Vaishali's stage will also be like that as well. But i truly think that stage shows were better this time than the last, it was nice to see so many singers from the past.

In few words it was FULL ENTERTAINMNET. I enjoyed every part of the episode.

But yes the finalists were better in 2007.

As far as regionalism goes, a contestant is expected to get the most votes from his/her region so i don't find any problem if they are going into the contestants region and giving them some entertainmnet

I also like to see the old contestants back to perform.. For me, neither one was full entertainment - it was more boring than entertainment. Most of the things they said in non-Hindi, I didnt understand a thing. They should have at least shown some sub-titles!
Regarding regionalism, they had the regional SRGMP competitions for that. Dont you think that will suffice in terms of regional entertainment? Since it's a national show, and the winner would be a national winner, I prefer the regionalism to be wiped out of the show completely. Just IMHO... 😃

Lol i too didn't understand what they said in Bengali but i did like the singing, i think all were good especially since it was a live show. The comedians were also good, especially Johnny Lever.

I think, each of the episodes had a different set of audiences. That is why i liked the Delhi Stage show more because it had more appeal towards me. It gives you a sense of pride and you feel more connected to the contestants when they sing or talk in the language more familiar to you.

I am sure you would have felt the same way as me, if SRGMP had come to a Karnatka city and sang Malayalam songs, you would love the episode and it will give you a sense of pride.

First of all, Guru a correction - Malayalam is the language of Kerala and Karnataka is a different state and its language is Kannada. Now back to business..
For me, the places or stages didnt make any difference - when watching on TV, it hardly has any effect on me! I agree with you regarding the pride part for the locals who were among the audience. But IMHO, it's rude to talk in your language when the show conductors and the show's hosts dont speak your language!! If you do that, you should have a translator to convey the message across to the show hosts and the audience across the nation. Also, Calcutta has a larger population of non-Bengali speakers and living there for a few years is not easy to master the language as far as I have heard from people who have lived there, as Hindi is still the commonly used language between everyone. I know it brings some sense of pride to speak in your language while addressing the crowd, but you got to wear the outfits of hosts when you have guests from other places - which means to speak in a common language than the local one!!
BTW, if they had sung Bengali songs, I wouldnt have had a problem! I can enjoy music in any language as long as the tunes are pleasing for my ears. If SRGMP had come to Kerala, trust me, they would be singing mainly Hindi songs and the language would be English if not Hindi! If there would be someone who might speak in Malayalam, I believe someone would translate it to the guests, at least in person at the same time so that they will not miss out the important parts.. That's how I have seen it there...

ok let meget this right here, so you are from kerala and speak Malayalam?

yeh i agree we couldn't understand it, but really it's just one episode they don't t do this in every single episode. I think they have the right to speak in whichever language they want to for at least one episode. You are asking for votes(which don't come free) from bengalis, and i think it makes sense to ask for votes in their own language and showcase your culture to the entire nation.
