ALL Vaishali Fans Come on In

Friends,
I am glad to share Vaishali's interview for her fans .
I always found Vaishali very down to earth, polite and matured girl whenever she used to talk on stage.
I must say, Vaishali has not changed after a huge success, she is even more simple and sweet in real life
I am thankful to her for sharing some wonderful thoughts with us
This interview is done in Marathi, sharing with all her fans !

Deepali: We are happy to see you here Vaishali.I heard some where that you were not well bcoz of which you couldn't enter earlier in Eklavya!Vaishali: Oh no, that is so not right, I was pregnant then and two moths back me and Mr.Made has become proud parents of a wonderful daughter, 'Astha' :)Deepali: Wow, that is a wonderful , Congratulations to both of you!

Vaishali: Thank you, I am sure Aastha's arrival is very lucky for me.

Deepali: Tell me about your family background, any other member of your family is into singing ?

Vaishali : Not at all, I come from a very small town in Amaravati district, called ' Khar tale' where basic needs like water supply, hospitals, good schools are not available.
My family had extremely low income status where I couldn't even think of taking any professional music training.
I used to sing as a hobby.
If I had to learn music, going to Amaravati city was the only way which was impossible for me due to our economical status.
My father used to take me for small family functions, weddings where I started doing public singing.
This is how it started, my father showed me the path but I couldn't take any formal training until 2005.

Deepali:So what happened in 2005 ?

Vaishali:I got married and we came to Mumbai, the land of opportunities !
I must say more than me, it was my husband who wanted to see Vaishali, a 'Successful singer.
'He is the one who started supporting me to take my music seriously.
I am very lucky to have him as my life partner, without him my success was just impossible !
He encouraged me to learn classical music and he supported me to apply for Zee Marathi saregamapa 2006.
I got rejected in 2006 but my husband told me not to lose hopes.
Then I started learning classical music in 2006 from Pt. Ajay Pohankar..
Then finally I got selected for Zee Marathi Saregamapa for 2007 season and that is how people started knowing me.

Deepali:Vaishali, I am a big fan of yours.
I liked all your performances on Zee Marathi platform.
I think you are the only reality show winner, who deserved to win as per judges and as per public demand too.Also we are proud to have a woman who is the Mega winner.

Vaishali:Thank you, Zee Marathi journey was wonderful and I dedicate my victory to all my fans , who made me the 'Winner..Reality shows are made for public and I will be always grateful to them!


Deepali: Now you are here in Saregamapa Challenge'09 !Your first preference was Shankarji or Pritamda's gahrana, how do you feel to be in Himeshji's gharana?

Vaishali: Yes, I did mention Pritamda and Shankarji's gharana but I feel extremely proud to a part of Himeshji's 'Rock' Gharana.
I have always been a Shankar Mahadevan fan , he also guides me like Himeshji does !
I consider myself very lucky to have 2 great music directors to guide me.
At the moment I am new in Rock gharana, so prabably won't be able to describe Himeshji so well, but I feel he seems to be a nice person and he really is very hopeful and confident about me.

Deepali: We all are hopeful about you and Himeshji too !
Himeshji always supports his singers like his own kids, I am sure he will guide you on right track !
You are in right Gharana, I must say.

Vaishali, what are your views on public voting, do you think deserving singers often face unfair decisions ?
What do you think of Aasma coming in istead of Sunvincer/Shashi/Manisha ?

Vaishali:
As I said earlier, 'Reality shows are made for the public , so if public demands something, the channel has to provide that.
Yes, we often see deserving singer not getting right opportunities, but I do not blame on any channel or public even.
The channel is bound to do what public demands !
If Asma has come back , yes, we have to accept that the public really wantes her and so she is here.
This is what reality shows are all about and being a reality show contestant, I understand these facts and I am ready to accept happily whatever public decides for me.

Deepali:Very well said Vaishali !
Who is your favorite contestant singer among top 14 and who is your best friend among these ?

Vaishali :
My answer to both is 'Shoumen , the Zee Bengali winner' !
He is my favorite performer and a very good friend as well.
He is very down to earth, simple person, I admire his singing and his nature very much.
And I am not saying this bcoz we both entered late after Brahamstra and we both are regional show winners, He really is a very good friend !

Deepali: What kind of songs you enjoy the most ?

Vaishali: My first love is 'Ghazals' !!
I am crazy about ghazals since my childhood.
Ghulam-Ali ji is my favorite ghazal singer, I am a BIG fan of his singing !
'Karo na yaad magar' is my favoriet ghazal.
I also like Ashaji, Suresh Wadkar ji a lot.
I love Madan Mohan ji-Lataji combination, I really want to perform on Madan-Moahnji song in Saregamapa some day !
I have practiced and I can sing more than 400 songs of Madan Mohanji.

Deepali:So tell me, when you perform, who seletcs your songs ?

Vaishali:We get different themes every week and we give our choices accordingly .The channel decides one song out of these choices.Do not forget to watch Sept 26 th episode.
I have performed 'Ishq bina kya jeena yaro' , Taal movie song.
Also a small interview of mine will be shown .

Deepali: Great, we will not miss that !!
Your song choices are wonderful.
I really want to listen ghazals and Madan Mohan songs by you !
