First of all, mods, I'm sorry if I'm not supposed to make a topic like this, but I really have to say this.

I've been getting annoyed by some comments here that are very xenophobic, racist, and full of bigotry.

Art is something that transcends nationality, gender, ethnicity, and religion. When someone sings, writes a book, makes a movie-whatever-they are sharing a part of themself, a part of their soul. It is absolutely disgusting that people drag in nationality into this. Art is something we all have in common, it is something that should unite us, not create differences.

Has anyone here heard the song 'Sajni?' Its a beautiful Pakistani song, and even though I'm Indian, the beautiful lyrics, music and singing, doesn't make me even think of whether its Pakistani or Indian.

For all those who say, "But do other countries have things like this where they take Indians?" Well, first of all, the Indian music and film industry is far more developed than the other countries in question, so you can't even consider that question. America takes workers who come from rural villages in India, but do villages in India take workers from America? Well, America has a place for those workers, whereas those rural villages don't really have any work for people to become successful.

I have lots of Paki friends who don't discriminate, and we get along just fine. When the Pakistanis made the movie "Khoda Key Liye," and signed on Naseeruddin Shah, did they say, "Oh, no, not Indian, we need someone Pakistani!" No, they looked at talent.

And thats what art should be about. It shouldn't be about which religion, race, or country you're from. The only thing that should matter is your talent, and what you're sharing with the world.

brilliantly put ....i totally agree the thing that really gets to me is that every single episode aditya says whos gna win india/pakistan/oman well ders only 1 person from oman so thats not even fair but whoever wins its because of their talent, not really the place that they are from. i really wish he would stop saying that

I just want to add and again I am not a Pakistani, even Ashaji has sing songs in a Pakistani movie directed by Adnan Sami long before Shafqat and Atif - there is no comparison in between Indian and Pakistani movies, infact in Pakistan the movie industry is non existant and they can not even afford casting any Indian actors or singers - we all should be very open minded (Indian or Pakistani) and respect each other, so on this not I am going to ask every one to support all these contestants on the basis of their talent.

Yes Music assumes whatever face we give it and can be draped in any colour of our choice. Our own narrow-mindedness is the obstacle.

very well said sonyji....the separation b/w India and Pakistan was drawn by political people....we r people....the people in India and Pakistan are equal...

Just think this if there was no partition in 1947....british india become india....no quaralling for prime minister post b/w NEhru and Jinnah....all of these singers Amanat,Mussarat,Junaid,Zaheer,Shujat,Sara would have been indians...So it was the politics that separated the people....i hate politics

There is only one god. If in one planet same god can create 1000's of diffrent species and human beings whose face are diffrent from one another than why can't god create diifrent religion. Like all the river at the end they meet in the sea same way whichever religion we follow at the end of the day we all will meet the same God almighty. Borders are created by human. However there should be no border in the heart of a person. There should he no hatered among the people beacuse after all same god has created us. If we hate each other than we our insulting god's creation. I am a hindu but studied in catholic school and i am also a devotee of baba Haji Ali and all the these religions has thought me only one thing that is LOVE.
