Frankly we should look at where she is now and what is her potential. She has a strong classical base which is her advantage. So I see her going very far.

I hope so Summer. She has a unique voice, separate from the present day singers. All the other girls except Asma have good voices but not unique. Unique voice (whatever you called nasal twang etc) usually sells, look at Atif Aslam there are lot of better singing voices but his records hit the list in music industry.

I have not understand exactly what ppl are talking about Sara. She seems to be a normal young girl to me besides I believe that nobody is perfect in this world. AND I do not think we should expect everybody supposed to like Sara. Who said that in public voting the best contestants wins? So ppl stop complaining is Asma is still there.

Yes Mike, most people do not care about singing but make comments about looks, dressing, script (dictated by Zee) . Some viewers also think that she makes up stories. Certain things she says are quite true based on whatever reports she received. It is very logical that no matter what we do, whether right or wrong, people will have something to say ( good and bad). Logically when a lady goes overseas to sing, some of the more conservative people from her country will have objections. In some Asian Families they may have the same problem too.

I liked sara's eastern look today for a second I thought she would sing some really classy ghazal. But judging form zee's insecure behavior I think we are not going to have any variety in music this time:(

I think you gave a very good example of atif aslam. so many people(aadesh, abhijeet et all) are jealous of him and always criticize him but that doesn't mean he's a bad singer. it's just that when you're popular you're bound to have your fair share of detractors. it's a part and parcel of being famous.look at the positive side, people only try to pull down those who're at the top.

no Mrs Ackles she has failed in sur quite a few times, because it doesnt look good to point out like this : she miised sur 9 times or 6 times in antara and twice in sthyai so I dont go in for description, she needs to do more and more riyaz, uski awaz kharaj sur me kampti hai (jiya jale), its rocking me uska sur acha gaya hai, modulation ki bhi kami hai, if you dont believe me take her recording to any guru (which Im not) and he will tell the truth. Feel, tonal quality and other factors are secondary, sur rules on this stage, thats why I prefer Zaheer any day over Sara. Sorry but she needs rigorous training.

What I dont understand is why Sara wants to prove she is only Pakistan ki beti, a gayak doesnt belong to any religion, region, community, we have loads of bhajan done by M Rafi, ARR has done ramleela for swades and and many Hindu singers have sung allah many times in several songs, just google this and there are 100 songs in each category.

I saw a spotlight where they were celebrating Eid and she said (customary) aur pakistan ki beti ka aap sabko eid mubarak, no one else said like this, c mo n Eid is celebrated all over be it Pakistan or India, this could have been avoided, one must become a good person that is the first step to becoming a great singer. Sorry but she comes across more as politician than a singer.

regarding your first half of the comment, I didn't get half of that because my Hindi isn't very good..

well if her haters disliked her for the singing why are majority of comments on Sara has nothing to do with singing but more below the line of what is acceptable behavior, either they make snide remarks about her so called "fake smile" or her so called "nautanki" or some really unsavory remarks about her place of origin and some even go as far as bring in sensitive issues like religion etc..

and I said "majority", i did not say all of them.. a small minority of her critics put their points across in a mature way and talk about her singing other than just "her singing stinks" or "her singing sucks"..

and your second half of the post - well i responded to that in another thread..

I would like to know how Pakistan would have behaved if an Indian singer went there to participate in same sort of programme and kept chanting Hindustan ke beta ka aap sabko Happy Holi.
