WOW BEAUTIFUL SONG!

I don't know how the two renditions are ebing compared, I heard the Amanat's version on you tube and Parthiv's as well. Two are quite different and Parthiv's rendition demonstrates the kind of taiyyrai he has. Regards Amanat's version : he is holding on sur but needs to impropve on breathing sound in singing, saans ki awaz uncomfortably aati hai uski gayaki me. Though now a days where recording is done in pieces, this can be covered. Honestly he reminded of Obrokanti who was often good on sur but poor on saans control.

Many of Parthiv's SRGM renditions are extremely good and a reminder of the fall from from grace of SRGM show.

I agree with you doc kaul and md roy.

I agree as well. In my opinion the two renditions are different. I like both.

Amanat is one of my favorite singer. He IS in Sur and Taal ... but I agree with you that he has to improve on his breathing. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, in his "aankhon mein teri (Ajaba si)" rendition in SRGMP, in the line," Dil ko banaday jo patang ...." he takes a breath after 'patang', while KK sang the whole line in one breath.
By the way Parthiv sang for Chirantan Bhat?? in the movie EMI. The song (Roshan hai dil) is good. Surprisingly, he sounds like Sonu Nigam in this song! Thats what I thought.

Actually in one of the renditions of Amanat he lost taal at a place to take breath, shall post that later. But no doubt he was normally bang on sur and full points for that.

Ustad Rashid Khan who is being labelled as torch bearer of Pt Bhimsen Joshi recently sang aaoge jab tum for Jab we met and it was good. Also aan milo sajna by Parveen from Gadar is quite classic (khamaj). We also have songs from vivah (Ravindra Jain) which are again pretty good. Quite a few songs in Lagaan, swades, Mangal Pandey were semi classical in anture and recieved ample appreciation. Classical is very much here to stay may be not in a pure form.

Here (digressing from the topic) Im posting link for raag Hansdhavani by U Rashid Khan
but still I find the P Sultana's version out of world, what a rongte khade kar dene wala rendition. She transcends thru 3 octaves.

Some how the culture of pure classical like ketki ghulab is not there now a days.

Out of the world renditions! Parveen Sultanaji has been a classical favorite of mine. This reminds me of the good ol' days of Saregama when such stalwarts were the judges. Thanks Indradanushji for bringing such masterpieces to our notice.

thanks for liking them my dear, isme dhyan dene wali baat hai, hamsadhavni me dhaivat varjya hai lekin meend me uska khubsoorat tareeke se istemal hua hai.

Also dekhiye around 3.24 She breaks free into falsetto aur udhar kya sur laga rahi hai, rongte khade ho jate hai, aise gunijani ko shat shat pranam, one of my firends saw her performing this live and he described her as goddess in dusguise.

Pls try this as well
raag bihag by U Bade G Ali Khan, unfortunately his son never grew out of his shadow, but you can hear here and there him supporting in taan. Kya khubsoorat hai, supposedly those day he was living in a flat in Malabaar hill Bombay.

I l l post a song by ARR : pakkathey, usme dekhiye kya khubsoorat prayog hai raag Bhupali ka, raag bhupali is fav among those who like to fuse western instruments , chords progression over Indian classical, no wonder ARR has quite a few song on this. Ofcourse the first song that comes to mind with Bhup is sayonara (Shankar Jaikishan Lata trio creating magic), I wish some one opens a thread on this trio and we will talk our heart out on that.

Yes both these pieces are very soothing and nice. I wonder how the singers are able to remember such a demanding piece like Hansadwani; they must have practised and sung a thousand times. I noticed that Begum Parveen too sang the same Hansdwani and it has given it a different effect.
