MUSIC REVIEW BY NAACHGAANA 4/5 ****

After Aap Ka Surroor this might be his biggest album. Let's face it…he sings from his nose…he's a nasal singer…sometimes he acts like a Salman Khan wannabe, he's arrogant, most of his songs sound a like these days…who cares…the guy can still deliver chart-busters. It seems like he tries extra hard for an album when actually starring in the film. Himesh's style of singing has always been critisized, yet people still get his tracks to the number one position. So will Karzzzz be another great album like Aap Ka Surroor???

1) Lut Jaoon Lut Jaoon - This is suppose to be the title track of the film…Harshdeep Kaur is a new young talent…her voice is very different…she has a blend of today and yesterday in her…if she gets a permanent position in Himesh's camp she can do wonders. As for Himesh who carries this song…what can I say…I just love the passion he puts into his singing…the lyrics are top notch…and the echoing in between the alaap's is just gives you goosebumps. Very wicked track…I can hear this one over and over again.

2) Hari Om Hari Om - Himesh starts the song just like Om Shanti Om from Karz…Himesh kicks some lines about how he can live without his lover and all…the typical bollywood lines…and then he starts chanting Hari Om Hari Om…at first it sounds really wierd and awkward…but as the song progresses you kind of get used to it…thats how it is when it comes to Himesh bhai hahahahaha. This one is a decent track…the Sitar/guitar piece which is played throughout the song is incredible.

3) Tandoori Nights - Tandoori nights…you ask me…hahahahaha…whatta title…my goodness…oh well…this one is very catchy…chart-buster for sure…Sunidhi Chauhan accompanies Himesh this time around…both share great chem here…the chrous, "tak tananana tandoori nights"…very catchy. The lyrics are great here as well and the background music is perfectly placed/pitched for the singers to shine…good track….by the way have you guys seen Urmila in this track…FIRE.

) Soniye Je Tere - As the song starts, you hear Himesh chanting some lines in English…OMG it sounds so stupid and goofy…big throwoff…but if you listen to the arrangements here you'll be shocked…Himesh takes it a level higher here…the song takes a while to get used to…it's a slower track with Himesh getting in his forte…these are the songs that Himesh should always sing…the slower, heart-wrenching songs…this is s situational track…can't see people listening to this one all the time…It's a definite skip when your sitting in the car.

5) Dhoom Tere Ishq Ki - As this track starts off I quickley get a rush in my body saying WOW…Himesh of the 90's…This is a simple track with simple arrangements where Himesh gets to shine…as a singer this is his best track in the film…The lyrics are just mind-blowing…I don't think there is anyone out there that will disagree me when I say that this is a track that will definetely touch their hearts. One of the key moments of the song is when Himesh sings the line Aur Thodi Dher Mein Hum Judha Ho Jayenge…same lines from Ghai's Karz. It has that rajhastani, punjabi, qawaali touch to it…it's a gem.

6) Sisak Sisak Ke - By this point, you wonder whats going on…not one dull song yet…Himesh is on a roll…this time around he picks up the speed…he's brilliant here…this is another chart-buster. Today's generation is going to enjoy this track…the beats are off the hook…and the chorus is mastered perfectly by Himesh Bhai. Now in this song when he fires a few english lines between the alaap's it sounds cool…not freaky or odd…very hip n happennin track.

7) Tere Bin Chain Na Aave - OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNN…OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNN….Himesh yo Himesh…this is the only typical Himesh track in this whole album…this song relates to many of his other tracks, when it comes to lyrics, chorus, beats, arrangements…almost everything…but does that mean its an awful track…NO…its decent…it's something we heard before but it's something we dont mind hearing again. Himesh and Tulsi are both alright in this track.
8) Masha Allah - Masha Allah is something we havent heard from Himesh before…this sounds very unique…very different from Himesh tracks…complete opposite from the last track…lyrics are amazing…this time Himesh has like 3 types of arrangements overriding each other…basically three different forms of Himesh here…On is the paining-hardcore-rock version…one is a very romantic and passionate version…and the third is the smooth and calm version…he excells in both…voice and music here.

9) Ek Hasina Thi - WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO…wowwwwwwwww…this was one of my all time favorite tracks…and now Himesh is here to repeat this song's success…We seen it many times…SEL transormed Kaike Paan Bana Raswala and Yeh Mera Dil into newer versions…then a month or two ago VS transfored Bachna Ae Haseeno into a hip and happening track for todays generation…and today I hear Himesh tranforming another one of my favourites…but just simply adding a few beats here n there…and changin a few lines here n there…and then he does a nifty musical piece towards the end of the song extending the song as he voices a few more lines…this has to be the best tribute…this is just wonderful…this track shines out the most from the whole album in my opinion. And Himesh's voice just works perfectly for this song.

I never hear the remixes…I just think those spoil the original tracks or make the original ones look bad…anyways whatever…F the remixes…overall awesome album…Himesh doesnt let down…this is one of the better albums to come out this year…I think this yr has been a big dissapointment when it comes to music…a lot of awaited albums haven't lived up to its expectations…here is one album I wasn't awaiting yet it turned out to be superb…propz to Himesh. Himesh in an interview once said that he does not want to shut the mouth of his critics but he want to win them all over again. Look like he is working hard to win his critics that is why in karzzzz you will find mixture of western and traditional music which appeals to both young and old generation.

I like the song "Soniye je tere" inspite of what the author thinks. It has a great mix of Punjabi rustic style.

You are correct summer3 "Soniye je tere" is a track you can listen again and again but I guess everyone has their own likes and dislikes. The best part of this album is the variety of songs in it.

Switching from traditional and accepted Bollywood songs to the Sufi and Punjabi Mix songs with a lot of Beat, Himeshji has managed to rope in the massive younger crowd.
Several of his songs have plenty of soul.

As much as I appreciate Himesh's talent as a music director, if I have to endure his voice just to hear his music, I'd rather miss out.
