So, please don't jump to conclusions. Browse the site patiently. I see most who have given their comments here probably didn't spend enough time on it to browse.

I am sure this was a lot of work for the moderators and overall a good job. I am sure they all want to see the fruit of their hard work - so please take some time before commenting.

As I am typing this reply I see that I have the ability to change format right here. I haven't seen that before. Pretty cool.

I've signed too :) I just really hope that it atleast makes some sort of difference, because I know they put a lot of hard work into this new layout, but I really don't even feel like coming here anymore. If IF is just going to become another social networking type site like Orkut, FB and others, I rather just visit there instead. 🙂

i totally agree..... it's not abt getting used to change. It's abt the site changing it's entire purpose and turning into something different (that already exists)....and it's not user friendly!

Being a veteran member of the Dev Team and someone who has been a member from the inital days of I-F, I would just like to say a few things. Why is everyone being so harsh? Instead of signing petitions and writing things like 'I hate' or that I-F is trying to become like other sites, why is no one giving suggestions. Yes many have stated why they 'hate' this new look but why not take this new change and give suggestions on how things can be improved.

Months ago topics were started on the new look and thus it shows that it has taken months and months of hard work to bring this new look. And who is this all for? Its for the members of I-F. I-F is not here to compete with any site as it has carved a niche of its own. And this new look has been created keeping in mind that we should give our members more features and improve the site. Things are still incomplete and why not give it a chance till the whole transition takes place?

Some of us have problems because our fan fics have gotten messed up and we worked hard on them. Just think about it when you are being so harsh with a whole team who has put in so much hard work to bring this new look to you, how must they feel? If fan fics have gotten messed up we can request to have that problem fixed. But instead should we bash someone else's work? If alot of us don't want our buddy lists to be shown then we should all state that. Instead of creating problems, we are here to find solutions and there is nothing wrong in change. We can adapt ourselves alittle bit to the new layout and at the same time ask for the layout to be adapted alittle bit to our tastes.

Criticism and suggestions are fine but there is a way to present them. Instead of signing petitions and saying we hate this, we should all come together and help improve. This is just my personal opinion and I understand that many may not agree. But we are on a discussion forum where all of us have a right to voice our opinions and I have just voiced mine stating what I felt is wrong.
