Yea sure, like for instance when you type in Gautam it only gives you 6
topics when their shoudl be like 2 or 3 hundred it, or sometime it will
only give you the ones that have been started this previous week. This
didn't happen before in the other search engine, is this a glitch?

Y e a h!!!! [:D/] Think I have figured this out a little better. I also sometimes get message to try to do search after 58 secs. or mins. or sumthin! 😆

Now if we only had a Recycle Can so the messages which we sometimes delete in error can still be found, esp. I do Delete all in error 😆

alright, im gonna post the problems i have with this. to be frank, searching feature although really divided up to give more options for a better narrowed down search (which is great..so good job there), it really ends up with more work and by that i mean, more tries to get it right and more time waste on searching than before. for instance..

1. the wait after every search!!!!! here is one example: http://i3.tinypic.com/7341yr9.jpg the time for wait varies from 10 secs to 100 sec

2. suddenly the word is too short😕 i search for sweet a second before that, and then "fine" is too short😕 http://i16.tinypic.com/6pflsno.jpg

This is no glitch.

Do check out all the options when doing search.

a) Which forum you are looking.

b) Searching on the subject or the message body

c) Date range

1. Reduced the wait time for members to 30seconds and for non members its 60 seconds. This is to prevent servers to slow down if someone tries to send automated queries to the server.

2. "fine" is too broad / generic and short keyword. Refine your search. The minimum is 5 characters.

^ that was just an example. i wasn't really searching for "fine", put it so that i would get that screen page and show it there.

so, if i understand correctly, we can no longer search for words like "meat" "veg" "food" "dish" "acne" "cold" "war" "size" "girl" "boy" "clap" "star" "idea" "jam" "weak" "bday" "old" "gold" "mold" "mean" "site" "doll" "mall" "wind" "win" "time" ....and names like "neha" "tiki" "sam" "Anu" "Sree" "momo" ..... i could go on ...but i guess you know what i mean by now. bichare four letter word ka kya kasoor? bichare four letter naaaam ka kyaa kasoor? =P if i know that the topic im searching for has the word "sam" in it, but i dont know the exact other words in the topic, do i need to go through all the posts that i have made to find it?? what if i dont remember when and where i made the post, the topic subject is all i remember...what do i do then?

sorry if im turning out to be a pain, but im only trying to understand what to do in such situations. i know you guyz are working hard on this, so pointing out the things that if made better could really help the members out. thanks for all your help. i really appreciate it. =)

ok wait, it works when i try for topic name. so the keyword limit option is for searching in the whole text but any word limit works for the topic name.... ok so i searched wrong -__-

The word limit is there only if you are searching on posts instead of subject.
