Centre asks all states to be alert

New Delhi, Jul 11

Centre tonight asked all states to take adequate security measures, particularly in big cities and sensitive places, in the wake of the serial bom' blasts in Mumbai and Kashmir.

''The Centre has issued suitable advisory to all states,'' a Union Home Ministry spokesman said.

Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Home Ministry, G S Rajagopal, has spoken to authorities in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kolkata about the same, the spokesman said.

Other Home Ministry officials are also in touch with their top officials in Uttar Pradesh, Baroda, Thane and other sensitive places, he said. -- PTI
