As much as I find Sanchi's character to be irritating (not from the past 2 episodes...I am talking about the earlier phase...what with her stupid, half-baked plans and her unnecessary gloating!), I am finding this new Indu Singh to be even more despicable and downright scary!
The entire wedding sequence (though brilliantly written, directed and enacted) is emotionally very disturbing and actually shows you the truth that happens in our country! Forced marriages are not fictional...they do happen and if for once, we forget about Indu and Sanchi being fictional characters and imagine the plight of a girl who has been forced to marry a man against her wishes, we can understand the situation!
Indu's character has been written well in comparison to Sanchi, hence, despite the atrocities he does, as a viewer we are still bound to view him with bias...hoping that he will change and become a more compassionate and understanding person.
But Sanchi's character is sketchy...she does not come acrosas a level-headed and self-respecting girl that she is supposed to be, rather as an arrogant, over-confident girl who stubbornly refuses to see the good side of the man who loves her!
Even as actors, Anirudh is much more effective in conveying his character and its peculiarties across the screen in comparison to Pooja, who is not that strong as a performer!
Hence, it is not really the viewers fault if they think that Indu still deserves a chance...it is the way the creatives have written him and the way the actor puts it across, that influences our minds!
PS: Pooja was excellent yesterday...her silence seemed to speak volumes rather than her shrill dialouge delivery...hence, a lot of viewers must have felt a strong empathy with her state in yesterday's episode!
