Gaurav's holy-days

Ranjib Mazumder

Actor Gaurav Chanana has just returned from his Ajmer Shariff and has already chalked out his plans for his next visit to the dargah. Says Gaurav, "I have just returned from there and feel like a different person altogether. I have become rejuvenated and content after visiting the shrine. Now I can concentrate on my work again,"

It so happened that one of his close friends asked Gaurav to accompany him to the dargah about a year ago. Gaurav was amazed to see people from different religions praying at the dargah. Gaurav recalls, "That day we offered a chadar and came back, but I had a strange feeling that wanted me to visit the place again. I enjoy visiting the dargah since then. The place has its own charm. For example, there is a water body there which is supposed to have healing powers."

Since he is Hindu, does his family support his religious sentiments? "My parents have liberal religious views. I have friends from every religion and I like to visit any religious destination that will give me peace of mind. Other than Ajmer Shariff, I also visit Vaishno Devi every year," says Gaurav.
