STAR PLUS

RKC 1.0
Meri Durga 0.9
Too sooraj mein saanj piyaji 1.2
The great Indian laughter 0.8
YHM 2.3
Dance Champions 1.0
Chandra Nandini 1.2
Naamkaran 1.9
YRKKH 2.8
Ishqbaaz 1.9
Lip sing battle 0.3
Dil sambal has Sara 0.9

I agree our trp is low for a prime time slot but compared to other star plus show its not that bad.
Look at the trps of star studded reality shows like Lip sing battle(0.3 😲) , The great Indian laughter(0.8) and Dance champions(1.0).. like seriously😕😲
Things are getting worse for star plus
And I agree if the show was started at 8pm itself then trp would have been above 1.5
It's difficult for audience to pick up the story if started watching in midway in a show like RKC

Unlike the previous show that RKC replaced, I do not think this show is a high production value show. Chandra Nandini is still running at 1.2.
Its only been the second week now, lets wait a few more weeks and we will know. At worst this will become a finite series... as long as the story is wrapped up well, the ending part should not be so bad.

The ones that run non stop will become utter nonsense. Hope for the best.

Danish Khan was the fiction head in SP from 2013 and I would say SP had some amazing shows at that time. All beautiful concepts. SC, EHT, Veera, DABH, Ek Hazaroin meri behna hai, MB etc...
Then Danish Khan joined back Sony in 2015. After that SPs marketing strategy has continuosly failed and it didnt had any new show that had good concept running. All the crap saas-bahu funda came in. Nayi Soch was just name sake.

Look at Sony now. Sony has re structured itself. It had 2 successful fiction in last year in Kuch Rang ke and Beyhadh. Beyhadh was unusual concept and Sony got away with it, with Jennifer winning ITA for Maya. Its new line up of programming is also good, exciting for audience who wants variety.

the problem with sp is the same which every topper student face
this was always a topmost channel
no toppers want to fall and they want aways to be topper but they dont know that to become a topper again you have to fall sometime
sp axe the show which not get trp with no patience if they maintain some patience and keep original story instead of thinking what trp audience want then they will rise after fall
look at zee tv mahek and piya albela these two shows have new male lead not a popular faces but they are rising because other channel not give trp pressure that much

It's sad that show like RKC have trp trouble. Here Star is always on top. All other shows which got the high trp there in india runs at low here. Since RKC started it always take the top 3 place. Hopefully it get the deserving TRP soon.

@ Cute-over-Hot: Yeah but Lip Sync Battle didn't work because of its concept. It copied an American concept, but every movie, award show, TV songs, etc. have lip singing already. Why would anyone watch the show? And I read somewhere that because of its low TRPs, top BW stars refused to be part of the show and so it's ending early. Same with Dance Champions and The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Both are no competition to similar shows on other channels. And the replacement of the judges in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and surrounding controversy is pretty well known.

@ Shruthi: Yeah but look at the way Sony treats its long-term shows like CID and CP. There was a time when CID used to rake in a good 4.0 TRPs and now it barely scratches the surface with a 1.0. CP used to rake in at least 2.5 or so even for the late night, but now I believe it gets near 1.0 as well. Even its daily shows are doing good for Sony, but not in comparison to other channels or other shows on the same slot. Sony is known for bringing different concept shows and historical shows, but it does a bad job at promoting the very shows. Haasil is the first show I'm seeing in a long time that has so many promos on their YT page.

-------------------------------------------------------

I do feel that TRPs have also started declining for every show because more and more people are turning to the web to watch the shows. No ads, FF through scenes you don't watch, and binge watching are all starting to appeal to people. Also the non-TRP audience wants new content, none of the saas-bahu stuff. But production houses haven't really jumped on the bandwagon of delivering these shows in a good way. They still air them on TV and channels put such shows in the usual prime time slot that is dominated by saas-bahu stuff. I liked SP's Dopahar line-up. Those were actual unique shows. But no TRP so they cut that line. Until channels and production houses don't sit down together and come up with a proper method of delivering such content-driven shows in a proper manner and stop worrying about TRPs so much, we'll continue to get half-baked concepts, sudden plot turns to saas-bahu drama, and quick endings for shows that should have been allowed to run their due course.

As for RKC, I do remember reading somewhere that this is a finite series and as Mangothyme said, they've developed the story and have reached a point that could be considered the half-mark. Maybe another few months and they are free to pull the show off air if they want because by then the story will be close to over, if not over.

Dont just blame the trp audience and insult them like this. What can they do if they started watching half way and couldnt connect to the show because they didnt see the important bits, also even many fans of this show stopped watching it due to the boring storyline. CVs need to buck up.

The writing of this show is the USP for me. I know what bad and inconsistent writing is. Tracks, entire cast, location or costume is changed rapidly to please a TRP audience. Something like that affects the whole cast and the viewers who find it hard to connect.

This show is not promoted on one member of the cast. There is no expectation of a certain TRP based on one person. None of them have massive fan bases I am aware of that demand things from Star Plus. Groups of fans do not fight every day on social media causing negativity. Whatever TRP it gets is because of the writing and acting for me. If they tell a crisp story in 3 months to end it instead of prolonging it for generations I like that. I don't want Anami's grand children to fight Narottam and Avdoot's grand kids for LM.
