Obviously he is yet to realise his feelings in the show,so he is saying so in Ratan's perspective not as Rohit.But Ratan has already started falling for her..

He is also started getting night mares about Diya leaving him ana imagining romantic moments with Diya..

So he can't reveal that he has fallen in love as Ratan is yet to realise that. He is speaking according to Ratan's perspective..😊
