Some (granted very few) of us others, sadly, pine for things that are even marginally intellectually stimulating ... a great paucity of that as well ... particularly in the realm of 'entertainment' that is available for public consumption on the subcontinent ...
I hardly wish to tear you away from that which gives you pleasure ... I am just exercising my right to voice my opinion!
Cheers and Enjoy!

you said you didn't like it, the next poster said 'your choice' .... and then you go ahead calling people 'simpletons' who don't want anything 'marginally intellectually stimulating' .... another person said you are entitled to your opinion .... you sarcastically reply 'how charitable' ...... you seem to be itching for a fight .... some people like the show, some don't - so what exactly is the problem ?

Good Evening (SValeCalGal)

This is Kavi here. I read you post and wanted to reply to you personally. Firstly thank you for your post and although i do not agree with you, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.

I can only say that although your points of view are strong, and i do not disagree with them as it is your opinion, but i also believe although, yes i agree, there are floors within our show, but it is also far past the television that has being presented in the past in India. New formats and writing style are always tough to adjust to for any audience, and sometimes it does work, and other times it doesn't. As for the general medium of people who watch the show, you will be surprised to know, the mass of our viewer ship is from the 30 plus category. Sometime you try and you conquer, sometime you do not... either way i hope that, the floors and plus points in our show, will help develop Indian Television as a whole.

I apologize that it could not be a longer reply, as i am in the middle of shoot, and also apologize for the grammar and spelling, it has never been my strong point.

Kind Regards

Kavi Shastri (Rohan Mehra)

LOL you really do have issues with Mr. Chopra's TV productions, don't you
Oh heavens NO!! You should catch some of my stuff on another forum - the place that got me started on this portal! I'm regarded as quite a kick-in-the-pants there! And boy, do some of us ever have a riotous time!! If you're interested, I'll gladly send you the link via a PM! 😉
And trust me - looking for decent Indian TV in the ubiquitous schlock is orders of magnitude more painful than the proverbial needle in a haystack!
Now, that said, one reason why I'm beginning to resent what appears to be a growing 'Chopra hegemony' is that while these 2 may not have, the 'Lift Karade' (with very noble objectives I will grant you), has supplanted one of my favorites on Sony - 'Boogie-Woogie' ... I grew to be absolutely gaga over 'Ravi and Naveddda' as the quintessential goofballs (who could actually lighten up on the scatalogical - incredibly peurile), & thought Javed to have a social conscience (other than his 'upward' - wherever that is - glances to an 'ooper vala'). It gave folks (from the salt-of-the-earth to those above on the social scale) the chance to develop and showcase talent & make lifelong friends. Furthermore, I really resonate with things that are meritorious not meretricious ... and unlike some of the other muscial muqabala types, I did not see the participants on Boggie-Woogie as being exploited for the good of either the channel ... or the 'triumvirate' (I'm also awfully envious of the lasting friendship and love between the goofballs) ...
So, if anyone has any influence at Sony, deploy it and get them to replace one of the Chopra offerings with BW ... monopolies are almost always a bad thing ...
I'd love to know....what exactly qualifies currently under your definitions of great intellectual stimulation on Indian TV? I'm genuinely curious
Well ... let me not keep you in suspense! If you accept my proposition that 'intellectual stimulation' needs redefinition (actually 'definition', since only now is there even a scintilla of understanding of the many aspects of neuroscience) and having the ability to smile, chuckle, guffaw, roll-on-the-floor is an integral part ... then ... the other program that was the reason for my IF 'greh-pravesh' is a veritable feast ... and of late, has actually given many of us an opportunity to peel ourselves off of the floor half-dead with laughter ... it actually began as something with remarkable potential and has been gradually butchered in the hands of your every-day-run-of-the-mill manque hack writers 😔 But, I believe, if they follow some of my suggestions, it remains eminently salvageable ... Ahem 😆😆 (that's a joke at my expense - OK?) ...
I find so many identifiable elements in so many of the characters
Oh?! How interesting ... unlike Nandini, are you leaving this as an exercise for the reader ... me? I mean, do I get to intuit the identifiable for you? That's not terribly fair is it? 😃
to dismiss the crowd watching this show as 'simpletons' wasn't really needed either.
Well ... I did not dismiss the entire crowd ... but surely, there must be a subset, however small, that is simple-minded? So, my statement was not factually incorrect ... strictly speaking ...
A contrary opinion may raise hackles ... but so what? I'm holding my own fairly well - wouldn't you say - given the scale of the 'opposition'? But at my age, I expect that ... plenty has globbed itself on ... baggage or otherwise 😉

well dun wanna comment on neone's age its none of my business
You're cute! 😊
well if u havent then as i said u hvnt come across ne guy who falls into that categ.
Well ... the second naturally follows from the first ... no? Am I missing something?!
rader i say stupid enuff to believe in myths..
Oh ... wasn't 'deranged' stronger than 'stupid' (although when 'stupid' made it into the annals of psychiatry back in the dark ages, 'deranged' may not have been a cognitive disorder)?
yeh its not a novel
Oh! You are cute!!! 😆 No dearie, the addition of the article 'a' completely changes the meaning ... I said 'is not novel' ... I did not say 'is not a novel' ... I know .... I know ... English is a devil of a language ... good thing we grow up with it!
esp. some progs like rishta.com are just for entertainment n nt for scratching our heads
But ... wait, wait, wait ... some have already confessed to it giving them 'food for thought' ...
u shudnt do sumthng forcefully...

I could not agree with you more!! If only I had known that through school ... and university ... shucks!! 😆

you seem to be itching for a fight
I assure you with complete conviction ... I am not! Looks like Nandini is the only one who could read between my lines and answer some of my questions ... most of the rest is a brandishing of verbal cudgels ... ouch, ouch ouch!! 😆

hmm..gosh you again wasted my nanosecond..
I must protest! This is a false accusation! I am innocent until proven guilty! Like I said to the other member - you are the only one who can regulate your own responses ... you could have chosen to remain silent (as you had threatened ... uh ... I mean promised) 😆
btw..i think this is just to get attention nothing else
Well ... then congratulations are in order! For I appear to be meeting my goals ... beliefs, desires, and intentions! 😆
Oh ... but you've already caused this thread to die an early unnatural death! 😭

Good Evening (SValeCalGal)
Top-o-the-mornin to you young man!
everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.

You sound like a reasonable fella! Cheers!
New formats and writing style are always tough to adjust to for any audience,
See, Kavi, having lived in the US for a sickeningly long time ... I've grown very accustomed to the 'new' ... most of the time we walk around zombied from all the 'new' that is thrown our way ...
either way i hope that, the floors and plus points in our show, will help develop Indian Television as a whole.
That and critiques ... an obvious Shavian recently pointed out 'progress depends upon the unreasonable man' ... which was perfectly good in Shaw's days, but I did have to add a 'new' twist ... 'progress depends upon the unreasonable person' ... we must all strive towards political correctness ... and equity ... while not forcibly stifling conversation ... as the other senior member is exhorting her cohorts!
also apologize for the grammar and spelling, it has never been my strong point.
Ah! No sweat kiddo! Just hang around me long enough and the rest will be history! 😆

No, thank you...I'm not interested.....I'll leave you to your kind of entertainment :-)

Fair?? 😆😆😆 The directions and tangents that you take these "discussions" towards are obviously beyond my feeble mind, so I'll bow out now....No need to tax your brain trying to INTUIT anything😆
Have a nice day.
