These days TV stars are in the news for all the wrong reasons. It is their accidents, illnesses and other such mishaps that keep them in the limelight.
Joining the likes of Karishma Randeva, Sachin Shroff and Jasveer Kaur among others, is Deepa Parab aka Jia of Zee TV's Reth who was missing from the sets for some time. Apparently, she was suffering from malaria and consequently was nowhere to be seen.
"I don't know where I contracted the illness from. We shoot in enclosed studios and not in open areas where there could be infestation of mosquitoes," explains Deepa.
Tracing how it all began, she says, "I had been feeling feverish for a couple of days. At first I thought it must be viral fever, as it is contagious. I didn't pay much attention to it. Then one day it became unbearable. I was feeling very cold and was running high temperature. So the producer (Neelima Bajpai) suggested that we shoot later."
She has been recuperating at her house and adds, "I consulted my family doctor. The reports confirmed malaria. So, I was advised to take rest. I am feeling better now although there is still some weakness."
She does not intend to stay home for long though and will be on the sets soon. " I will begin shooting this Tuesday. It's a daily show and we don't have too many episodes in bank. They (producers) could manage all these days when I was away because they had a few scenes of mine in bank. But the producer has been kind enough to have permitted me to take leave from work. She met with the channel and worked out some idea to keep the track going," she continues.
Talking about her health now, she says, "I have lost some weight and have also developed dark circles under my eyes. I have taken so many medicines in the last week, that the thought of it makes me feel nauseous."
