PART 18:
Tarini roams around in the sitting area, her face reflects her tension too well. Now and then she checks her mobile, just to confirm that she by chance hasn't missed any message or call from Kabeer. But she finds nothing, only the wallpaper containing the pic of Tarini, Anurag and Kabeer together. She rubs her thumb on Kabeer's picture and smiles. Then suddenly when his tensed voice in the mobile, comes into her mind, she creases her brow, thinking what could have happened. Putting her right hand on her forehead and her left hand supporting her right elbow, she waits for Kabeer desperately. The ringing of the door bell, makes her to sigh in relief. The way the door bell rang, she understood that it could only be Kabeer. Although she wasn't expecting anyone else at that hour of the day, but Kabeer had his own way to ring the doorbell, she knew it well. The bell reflects the impatient nature of Kabeer.
Running towards the door, she opens the door so quickly that as soon as she opens the door, she slips. As she starts breathing again, after almost holding her breathe for some time, she realizes that she is alive and safe in someone's arm. As she opens her eyes, she finds Kabeer smiling at her, she smiles back and blushes.
As she gets away from his hold, "hmm.. maine to socha tha tum mujhe sambhalogi, yahan to main tumhe sambhal raha hoon" jokes Kabeer. Tarini slaps on his right arm, playfully. "Tumhe mazak sujh raha hai Kabeer, tumhe pata hai main kitni tensed thi? Kya kya khayal aa rahe the?" "Arey phone to kia tha yaar, tum bhi kahan mujhe marne (death) maarne (beatings) ki baatein soch rahi thi" jokes Kabeer.Tarini pulls him by his ear "mere saath agar faltu baatein ki na tumne Mr. Kabeer Sharma to main bata rahi hun bohot bura hoga." Kabeer making face out of pain says, "acha baba janta hun ki tumhe aise mazak pasand nahi." Kabeer expects that she'll leave him now, but instead she pulls his ear more, indicating him that she needs him to apologize for saying such a stupid thing, something she would never like to listen from him the next time.
After having dinner, they all go to sleep. But instead of sleeping everyone starts thinking about his/her life.
Ananya starts thinking about Kabeer and her relationship's development, how she used to admire her, used to collect his articles and now, he is with her. She can talk to him anytime. Especially now, that she has his number. Taking her mobile, she scrolls down to his name in her contact list 'Kabeer Sir' and trails her thumb on his name 'Kabeer'.
Her mother starts thinking about, what would have Richa told to Ananya? Ananya didn't discuss anything about Richa and she also didn't start the topic herself, wondering whether Richa had told her or not! But she decides that whatever happens, she is going to ask Ananya about it the next morning.
Kabeer thinks, if he is thinking of taking a step ahead with Ananya, he must first tell her everything about Tarini. He doesn't want to keep it from her. But will she understand? Will she trust him? Will she show her faith on him? Thinking about Tarini and Ananya simultaneously for the first time, brings a smile on his face. Only he doesn't understand is - is this smile a gesture of happiness because of his thinking about his life's two best people together or is it a sign of nervousness of what will happen, when the truth will be revealed!
On the other hand Ananya's brother Armaan thinks about his project which he needs to submit the next day. Nervous about, has he created the project up to the mark.
Next morning Ananya with her sleepy eyes, sits on the dinning chair. Her mother places a tumbler of coffee in front of her and sits next to her. "Ananya mujhe tujhse kuch baat karni hai". "Ji Ma kahiye" says Ananya, and sips her coffee. "Beta tu ne Richa se baat ki?" "Richa? Kyu? Kya baat?" Ananya looks at her mother quizzically. "Wo..." her mother thinks again whether she should mention or not. Ananya catches the tensed look of her mother and places her hand on her's. "Kya hua Ma?" "Tujhe pata hai Ananya, Richa teri..." as her mother proceeds further, Ananya interrupts her "Aapko pata tha? Ma apne mujhe bataya kyu nahi?" "Usne mana kia tha. Wo chahti thi ki wo khud tujhe bataye" "Ma apko pata hai mujhe kitni khushi ho rahi hai ye jankar ki Richa meri bachpan ki dost hai! Meri best friend" "Haan beta khushi to mujhe bhi bohot ho rahi hai. Kafi samajhdar hai wo. Bus main ye chahti hun ab jo tum dono ki dosti hui hai, wo kabhi na tutey. Teri zindagi mein doston ki bohot kami hai main janti hun. Mujhey aur Armaan ko sambhalne k liye tu ne apni zindagi ki har khushi ko side mein rakh dia hai. Par that's it now you won't compromise at all. Main chahti hun meri beti ko zindagi ki har khushi miley". Smiling Ananya says "Main khush hun Ma, such, bohot khush hun main". They both smile at each other, Ananya hugs her mother.
"Kya baat hai aaj Ma-Beti mein bohot pyaar umad raha hai!" says Armaan as he enters the area. "Haan bhai jab Ma itni sweet hogi to pyaar to umdega hi" says Ananya, pressing her mother's cheeks. "Chal badmaash" her mother beats on her hand, showering her love through this gesture. Then she stands up to get into the kitchen. Meanwhile Armaan sits quietly on the dinning chair. Ananya shifts her attention to her brother, noticing the clouds of tension on his face she places her hand on his hand and asks "Kya hua? Sub theek hai na?" "Haan Di sub theek hai" Armaan tries to assure her. "Armaan main teri behn hun. Tujhe samajhne ke liye mujhe tujhse baat karne ki zarurat nahi hai. Tere chehre se saaf samajh jati hun main sub kuch. Hum bhaley hi zada baat nahi kar patey mere kaam aur tere padhayi ki wajah se par iska matlab ye nahi ki main ye nahi dekh sakti ki mera bhai pareshan hai. Chal bata kya baat hai? Kuch hua kya?" "Didi ye college waley hai na, pareshaan kar dia hai inhone" "Kyu kya hua?" asks Ananya, concerned. "Jab dekho ye project wo project, exams. I mean ye ye nahi samajh te ki pehle hi hum par itna pressure hota hai exams ka, fir ye projects bhi. I mean theek hai projects do, par ye project year ke beginning mein hi kyu nahi de dete ye log? Theek exams shuru hone se kuch weeks pehle dete hain, with a time limit to submit it. Ab aap batao hum students padhayi pe dhyaan dein ya projects pe? Fir ye expect karte hain ki hum acha score kare written exams mein bhi. Mujhe toh samajh hi nahi aa raha main time divide kaise karun? Kya ye yahi chahte hain ki hum purey din padhte hi rahe? Kya humari koi personal life nahi hai?"
Ananya thinks about it, "Armaan tu chinta mat kar main iss bare mein sochungi, kuch karti hun okay. Tu tension mat le. Aur ye baat yaad rakhio humari taraf se tujh par koi pressure nahi hai percentage ko lekar, okay? I know you'll perform your best. Jaise bhi marks ho hum accept karenge okay?" Armaan smiles a little. Ananya hugs him and thinks about discussing this matter with Kabeer.
