Let's spare a thought to Richa's PoV

Ok..to be honest, last night soon after I watched the episode, I made a post questioning the reason why CVs could be showing us Richa's character the way they are doing.

Then, I put my thinking cap on to see if I can decipher the reason...and here are my thoughts.

  • Just because we are happy about something is it necessary that everyone around us is happy about it too? No.
  • Just because Richa is Ananya's friend, does she need to celebrate Diwali and Holi put together, just because her friend's love life is all sorted out? No.

Let's be fair. We all have colleagues at our work place who are insecure and constantly bickering behind our back.

Let us take a minute to understand Richa's thoughts about Ananya. In Richa's opinion, Ananya is an immature idiot, with an equally childish behavior. She has been constantly reprimanding Ananya for her behavior, be it in the conference room or with Kabir. She doesn't lose a chance to say - tujhe pata nahin.

On the contrary, she thinks of herself as mature and sorted. Her competence is never in question - as Kabir himself has acknowledged. She is good at her work, and knows it.

Now, the situation is, Ananya is in the good books of the EIC. So, obviously Richa feels insecure. She perhaps thinks, an immature idiot is going to get a better deal at work when compared to her more competent self.

We know this is not true. But, does she? No. She doesn't.

Richa's job insecurity has already been put forward to us in the meeting soon where merger was first announced by Kabir. While, Ananya's questions were related to the content on the news channel, Richa's question was about their job security.

Given this background, it is quite justified that Richa is behaving the way she is doing.

It is for the boss to identify their needs and build their morale. And, that is what Kabir did. He gave her the responsibility to run a new news segment.

Why did he do it? Is Richa's opinion important? No, he did it because, every individual who is a part of the team, irrespective of their personality traits, contributes to the success of the organization.

Does Richa's opinion matter to Ananya? We have already seen, the answer is - No. Ananya has been trying to be patient with her. But, that is about all.

Technically, Richa and Ronnie are the only ones who know about Kabir and Ananya. So, she bickers to him. Does he need to correct her thinking? Again, no, Theka nahin le rahkha hai ussne kisi ka!
Ronnie has no stake in the matter. Ananya does what she wants. Richa says what she wants. Kabir is doing what he wants. Ronnie is the silent spectator watching the show. Why should Ronnie justify anyone's behavior? Right!!! Does this mean Ronnie is immature? Again, No!

Let's face it. Depressed, frustrated, insecure, low on confidence individuals are there in every work-place.

Hats off to the CVs for keeping it so real. They have really got the nuances of each character down to the T'.

Yesterday's episode, Kabir and Ananya are in their 7th heaven. Richa is in her zone. Ronnie is in his. Manav and Malvika are busy doing their thing.

After all the heady mush Kabir and Ananya unleashed on us, we might not have liked Richa saying what she did, but that was much needed.

That is the reality. That is how the world works!

Thank you so much for your patience with this long post. Please do drop in your comments. and make my day! 🤗

completely agree...
every word of yours is true... every character... be it Richa Ronnie Baby or Sunny.. they all exist in almost every office...
I like reporters because its very close to real life...
and the best part of limited series is that u don't have to think how to drag one scene to show it for a week...

What you are saying may be true - but it just cannot justify her spreading false notions about Kabir and being so bitter about the relationship...she has said many times that she is not happy with the relationsship - so fine - why not stop at it...if you are not happy its fine - but it does not give you the right to poison other peoples mind about it...let her restrict her opinions and feelings to herself..or better still let her at least wait and see how this relationship is going forward...anyway if it would have failed she would be the first person to smirk and say " I told you so"...

bang on...
richa is deffo insecure... she is the kind of person who think exactly what u said...a silly immature gal like ananya is getting imp in EIC's life... she just wants anu to be away from kabir's life and kabir goes back to being the angry self then her career can flourish...

as for putting their friendship on back burner... in corporate world no one is anyone's friends...its a cut throat environment... i hv been working in corporate world for the past 9 years and i have seen those who claim to be friends end up doing everything to put u down to raise the ladder... with time u learn to be smart...show frndship but not trust anyone when it comes to work... richa is exactly that sort of a frnd... Trisha was happy with ananya's happiness...but with richa that isnt the case... for her her own visibility infront of EIC is at stake if anu gets more importance... seeing richa's BG... she isnt competent to carry out any stings or extensive field reporting... she is a news reader who doesnt give much thot to why behind the news unlike ananya who has a detective mind... but richa thinks she is superior as she is the news reading face...

Good points but Richa is doing this only out of her belief . She is the face of orthodox society who jumps to the conclusion easily and too rigid towards it.
Ronnie is the friend for whom Ananya's happiness matters most. He is not judgemental about anyone . He always believe in giving people a benefit of doubt and not influenced much by others . He represents the progressive class of the society. Above all a friend who supports his friend come what may.

I guess this is where we come to the difference between a 'friend' and an 'acquaintance'. Unfortunately, the line between the two is quite thin, and most of the time we can't spot where it gets blurred.

With Richa, it is quite blurred right now. She thinks she is showing concern for her friend and has her happiness at heart when she talks about her and Kabir, but fact is, we are able to see through that concern, and are able to spot her insecurity and frustration...

I agree with above points because I have experienced it personally... I had a friend who was not having good opinion about our boss while for me he was the best boss... as he had potential to bring out the best from his team... its the same with Kabir... he knows the potential of his team...
but still Richa sees his personal life as problem... i'm ok with her being against the relationship... she doesn't like Kabir and that's her opinion... ... but she shares all her nonsense talks with Ronnie and not with Ananya.. she knows Ananya will never listen to her...
But again, talking about Ananya behind her is not friendship... yet we find people like Richa in real world...

I am a part of the corporate culture too, and agree with you. Hi-fi. Office mein, friendship apni jagah aur apne career-growth/ambition apne jagah! Bang on about the the idea that she feels supirior coz she is the news reader. We see this attitude all the time, don't we..
