Ok..to be honest, last night soon after I watched the episode, I made a post questioning the reason why CVs could be showing us Richa's character the way they are doing.
Then, I put my thinking cap on to see if I can decipher the reason...and here are my thoughts.
- Just because we are happy about something is it necessary that everyone around us is happy about it too? No.
- Just because Richa is Ananya's friend, does she need to celebrate Diwali and Holi put together, just because her friend's love life is all sorted out? No.
Let's be fair. We all have colleagues at our work place who are insecure and constantly bickering behind our back.
Let us take a minute to understand Richa's thoughts about Ananya. In Richa's opinion, Ananya is an immature idiot, with an equally childish behavior. She has been constantly reprimanding Ananya for her behavior, be it in the conference room or with Kabir. She doesn't lose a chance to say - tujhe pata nahin.
On the contrary, she thinks of herself as mature and sorted. Her competence is never in question - as Kabir himself has acknowledged. She is good at her work, and knows it.
Now, the situation is, Ananya is in the good books of the EIC. So, obviously Richa feels insecure. She perhaps thinks, an immature idiot is going to get a better deal at work when compared to her more competent self.
We know this is not true. But, does she? No. She doesn't.
Richa's job insecurity has already been put forward to us in the meeting soon where merger was first announced by Kabir. While, Ananya's questions were related to the content on the news channel, Richa's question was about their job security.
Given this background, it is quite justified that Richa is behaving the way she is doing.
It is for the boss to identify their needs and build their morale. And, that is what Kabir did. He gave her the responsibility to run a new news segment.
Why did he do it? Is Richa's opinion important? No, he did it because, every individual who is a part of the team, irrespective of their personality traits, contributes to the success of the organization.
Does Richa's opinion matter to Ananya? We have already seen, the answer is - No. Ananya has been trying to be patient with her. But, that is about all.
Technically, Richa and Ronnie are the only ones who know about Kabir and Ananya. So, she bickers to him. Does he need to correct her thinking? Again, no, Theka nahin le rahkha hai ussne kisi ka!
Ronnie has no stake in the matter. Ananya does what she wants. Richa says what she wants. Kabir is doing what he wants. Ronnie is the silent spectator watching the show. Why should Ronnie justify anyone's behavior? Right!!! Does this mean Ronnie is immature? Again, No!
Let's face it. Depressed, frustrated, insecure, low on confidence individuals are there in every work-place.
Hats off to the CVs for keeping it so real. They have really got the nuances of each character down to the T'.
Yesterday's episode, Kabir and Ananya are in their 7th heaven. Richa is in her zone. Ronnie is in his. Manav and Malvika are busy doing their thing.
After all the heady mush Kabir and Ananya unleashed on us, we might not have liked Richa saying what she did, but that was much needed.
That is the reality. That is how the world works!
