I know most of us are worrying about the low trps of the show and Sony ignoring it in terms of promos. But does this mean the cvs will alter the storyline to get trps? Or the show will be any less than its stipulated time? Well the answer is a BIG NO!!
Rather its the reverse psychology that applies here. The makers and channel very well know that the show will continue to do like this on tv. Reason - We have a diya bati/Ashoka/kumkum bhagya on the same slot to compete with. And no prizes for guessing why we are low. We all know if RK-Kritika were doing a Kumkum Bhagya its current trps would be double than what they already are. But they are not! Because RK-Kritika are doing Reporters - A show dedicated to the young corporate audience. As of now only 20% of women population in India is employed. And rest have never seen or felt what a corporate/working life is like. They absolutely dont relate to what xyz is shown in Reporters. So they are not even counted as the potential audience.
Now how does low trps dont affect the show which is already 130 epis long:
If Reporters was to be an endless K soap I would be still li'l worried. But we all know that its just 130 epi long and we are already almost half way there. The trps matter because the channel gets a part of its revenue from there. But what we dont take into consideration is that a good part of the revenue also comes from sites like YOUTUBE that host the channel's content. And not to be forgotten Reporters is doing pretty amazing on youtube. Its daily episodic views are in lacs. And the advertisers who attach their ads with the videos of the show, pay sony in 'per click' basis (YES!) So for every view, Sony gets some money. So there are absolutely no chances this show is going anywhere or the story will become typical kekta soap.
The cvs know their niche audience and their tastes. They know that if they want to satisfy the channel they need to maintain the buzz on internet/youtube. And thats why they will always show whats planned from always, coz thats how we have liked this show since ever.
And if you still want to show your love and promote reporters, then you can easily do it by keeping the buzz alive:
1.Try to watch the repeats on sony's official channel so that the money from your viewership goes in right hands.
2.Maintain the online buzz around the show like this only. Comment on youtube epis/like the youtube epis.
3.Give feedback to makers what you expect from the show and how to improve it.
And rest assured, this show even if it ends, will leave us with ever-lasting memories! :-)
