The crowd cheered and craned their necks to catch a glimpse of the TV actress Shweta Gulati. And when she picked up the dandiya sticks and joined the crowd of dancers, everybody present was delighted.
The early deadline not withstanding, Nagpurians danced till wee hours, on the sixth day of Navaratri .
The scene at the event organised by Sankalp was as vibrant as ever. Green being the theme of the night, it was a treat to watch young girls and boys decked up in their traditional best in various shades of green, moving in circles in a well choreographed manner and swirling to the dandiya beats.
The twirls of the ghagra matched with the swirls of the kediyas . The celebrity quotient of the venue heightened with the visit of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dr B K Upadhyay.
The hip and happening crowd at Dhamaal Dandiya , swayed in rhythm as the dandiya sticks clashed. The crowd cheered and craned their necks to catch a glimpse of the TV actress Shweta Gulati. And when she picked up the dandiya sticks and joined the crowd of dancers, everybody present was delighted.
After dancing for a while Shweta was also seen interacting with the crowd and sharing some lighter moments with Sunil Raisoni. "I am privileged to be a part of this event and the audience here is awesome. It was good to shake a leg with the young crowd," says Shweta.
Shweta went gaga over Nagpur on her maiden visit. "I always thought that Nagpur is a town and had reservations about coming here. But now I have fallen in love with this city of oranges. I am just bowled over by the cleanliness, town planning and the roads of Nagpur," gushes Shweta. And the people? "The people here are amazing. They are so warm, fun-loving and hospitable," adds Shweta.
