Hey guys.. I know long time..no see... but I havent had inspiration to write much, plus i have exams in three weeks so was kinda busy.. Well, i have got loads of requests to continue "Picture Frames" but i'm kinda going through a writer's block on that. Will continue soon, I promise..
In the meantime, here's prsenting my new and extremely stupid idea:
One day begins and another day ends. The sun rises and the moon sets, and the moon rises and the sun sets. Light conquers the darkness and then darkness wins the light over. Someone smiles and other cries; someone is happy only because someone else is sad. Life goe—doesn't go on. At some point, at some specific point during your life, everyone is faced with two choices. One choice leads to prosperity or sadness: everyone takes that path. The other path is the tricky one. It's winds you up in a turbulence of joy and sorrow, and the maze it puts forward for you is the one you have to figure it. It gives you happiness only to snatch it, it gives you sorrow only to wipe your tears, and at the end of the road, it makes you smile so brightly that you muscles ache.
She chose the second path; and she being herself liked the second part. It gave her something she didn't want, and it took away something she didn't miss. It gave her Yuvraj Dev, an extremely snobby, papa's boy kind of brat, and it took away her heart and her soul. She started dating him, it was a fake relationship at the beginning, everything started with a bet, but she soon started falling for him. The only thing she didn't know that she was falling hard and fast.. so hard and so fast that the ground wouldn't even open up to swallow her in. But now it was time to part. They had a good relationship together, they fell in love, they enjoyed the perks of being with each other, but now it was time to leave. They were both leaving, it was a mutual decision, and that was it, she thought resolutely.
"Hey," she heard his voice and turned around. For a moment, she stared into his eyes which were still pleading for both of them to change their decisions, and looked down.
"Hey," she stated and he looked down too.
"Listen—Can we just talk about us?"
She sighed and looked down, "No, we agreed on this. We have to do this. Yuvi, please don't do this."
He sighed and raised his hands in mock-surrender. He fumbled in his pocket for a few moments, before taking out a thin box. "Here," he stated, "this is a little something for you. I-I saw you staring at it the last time we went shopping."
She took the box and opened it. Inside it was a very thin and extremely subtle bracelet. It was made of silver and if you looked very closely it had a rose sculpted on the back of the silver. Near the lock, engraved in the same rose design, were two letters. AY.
She looked at it and looked back at him. "Put it on me." she whispered.
He shifted again and slowly put the bracelet on her arm. His hand lingered over hers a moment too long, and that was enough. He pulled her in for what would be a last kiss and she didn't pull back. It was tentative, deep, meaningful and full of hidden messages when both of them pestered each other to not leave.
He finally pulled back before getting caught up in the moment and stroked her cheek.
"You are the best person I've had the misfortune to love."
She smiled weakly and looked down. It was almost a long time after she heard him completing the sentence, "And the best friend I've had the misfortune to lose." His voice was shaking a little too much for her own liking, and he close to her again.
"Ashi, why do we have to do this? What have you got to lose by staying together?"
She took a few deep breaths and tried her best to not cry. Realizing that it wasn't a rhetorical question, she looked straight into his eyes before replying, "The rest of my life."
It was long after he had left and she had stared at the door for God-Knows how long that she realized that she did lose the rest of her life. Just not in the way she expected to.
Five Years Later..
Yuvraj Dev's grand inauguration.
People from all over the world pored in for the grand inauguration ceremony of Yuvraj Dev's newly established firm: AY Companies Private Limited.
"It's a very happy day for us." Says Mr. Dev when we met him, "It had been always been our dream to have our own firm. And the best thing is that I'm soon getting married. I'm sure Anita will turn out to be a huge asset to our company as well.
When asked if AY companies stood for Anita-Yuvraj, he smiled and stayed silent for a long time. When asked about it, his fiance replied, "He can be a very shy man."
Well, we wish Mr. Dev and his fiance a very happy life.
She smiled a little to herself and almost folded the paper when she found the picture. His teeth were dazzling and he looked almost exactly similar to what she remembered.
She smiled to herself again, he looked happy. And that was enough for her.
Well, hope you liked it. PLease do comment and as always, constructive criticism is very welcome.!
