Part 20

Yuvi and Ashi were running down a beach, with Ashi chasing Yuvi. It was the first ray of dawn, the sea seemed calm as if laughing with them.. and there was a maroon tinge in the sky. Finally, she caught her and they both fell down on the cool sand laughing. He scooped her up.. and started to swing her around, until the whole work seemed blurry. The tickles were killing her, yet she had never felt so blissful before. She was with her love.. and nothing could take that away from her.. they grinned at each other, and rolled on the sand, arms wrapped together..

Suddenly he stirred and woke up, planting kisses on her cheeks until he reached her lips. 'Ashi.' He asked tentatively. 'Mhmm,' she replied. 'Ashi, I have been thinking. You are a great person, a charming woman and I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to have kids with you.. and I only see a future which includes you. So, Anvesha Banerjee Ray, will you marry me?'

She looked at him in disbelief and surprise for some moments. Loving cinnamon eyes met anxious dark brown ones, before cried out the one happy work which made his day, 'YES.'!

She jumped up to hug him and moaned softly, 'Oh Yuvi, You had me from hello..' and he swung her around, before meeting her mouth with a deep and passionate kiss. They wrapped their arms around each other and kissed.. just kissed.. before Yuvi whispered, 'You had me from Hello, too, darling..'

She bolted up from her dream. It had all been so sweet.. Yuvi proposing and the beach and all.. she wished it was real. She wished the engagement ring on her finger was from the person she loved. They say, that finger is closest to the heart. But for her.. it was the farthest.. it could be..

A few hours later, Anvesha Banerjee Ray was sitting on her favorite couch in her house, hugging her knees. She was dreamily staring into space, oblivious of what she was doing. She didn't care where she was, neither did she hear the noise of the cars on the road below. All she could hear was a hard, cold and distant voice which repeated the same sentence over and over again. 'Goodbye Ms. Banerjee Ray, or should I say, Ms. Banerjee Ray Dupont.' The voice had seemed so harsh and cruel.. yet knowing him that meant he was clearly hurt about something. She felt guilty even to acknowledge the fact that he had been hut because of her. Now that she thought about it, he had always been hurt because of her only.. hurt because of their love..

Exasperated, she turned on the FM, just in time for an announcement. The announcer was saying, ' Here is a song suggested to us by Dr. Yuvraj Dev, dedicated to Ms. Anvesha Banerjee Ray. Ms. Ray, if you are listening to this song, please come back to Dr. Dev. He loves and misses you.' Cold and numb, she just sat there waiting for the song..

'One word, that's all was said,

She froze. Those were exactly the same words he had uttered in the dream. 'You Had Me From Hello.' Not thinking, she tugged off her engagement ring and threw it across the floor..
