He slowly got up and climbed down the stairs, not concentrating on the steps at all. He wished he had asked her out in the airport. Why.. why did I not realize that the first time I saw her, my feeling was love.. why did I try to shed away the feelings I have started to have for her.. why did I let her go away from me?.. slowly he reached the Brasserie (Canteen.)

'Ashi.. sweetheart..'

'Yuvi..'

'Ashi, baby..' he cupped her face in his hands.. he could now smell her shampoo now.. it reminded him strongly of strawberries.. and his mind wandered forward.. to the future. He thought about himself five years from now.. in a country bungalow.. with Ashi and two kids.. running around the barn and Ashi chasing them.. he could picture himself reading on a squishy armchair under the sun reading a newspaper.. his legs crossed.. the dog barking under his feet.. he could see himself picking the dog up. and nuzzling it.. and his child coming towards him.. and during the evening.. they would all snuggle around the sofa.. the boy on his shoulders.. and the girl on Ashi's lap.. Ashi's arm around him.. watching a movie..

That's how he wanted his life to be.. with the sea in front of him.. and the bright rays of the sun.. warming him, his wife, and his family….

'Ashi, I really have to get back to work now sweetie. But today evening I have an office party..'

'Oh.. so..'

'Would you like to be my date?'

'Duh-uh Yuvi, is this even a question..'

'No, I just thought that..'

'For word's worth, Yuvi.. from today, I will always.. always be your date forever.'

She smiled and got up, not giving him a chance to say anything..

Meanwhile, he was sitting in the Brasserie with his friends having coffee.. thinking about her.. when a question snapped him out of his reverie.

'So, how was the trip to India, Colonel?'

'It was fine.. except for one little hiccup.'

'Hiccup?'

'Yeah, I met this girl in the airport when we landed in Paris. She was just amazing.. you know.. I should have expressed my love then, but somehow I didn't. And now she is gone.. she has someone who loves her.. why should she even care about me now..'

He got up, snapped his cards and walked to the door. This was all too normal for him.. but he wanted love. romance.. her.

'I'm courting you Ashi..' he thought
