My attitude decides my altitude: Siddhanth | ||
So says Siddhanth Karnick, the wild, wacky host of Hungama Fungama. He is natural, spontaneous and unpretentiously charismatic. Sid has dabbled in everything before he jumped onto the TV bandwagon. He has many ads to his credit. Apart from hosting road shows, he's had a chance to interact with Wasim Akram, Jonty Rhodes and Irfan Pathan in one of his sojourns in the glamour industry. His foray into TV came through when he auditioned and got selected to play the class prefect Arjun, in Remix. "My role had negative shades to it. It was an exciting role to play," Sid reveals. Born in 1983 and brought up in Jaipur, this young lad is as colourful as the city itself. A student from Jamnabai Narsee School and National College, Mumbai, he firmly believes in taking every opportunity that comes his way and making the most of it. "I belong to a family of Armymen. But acting is something which I wanted to do and love doing. Perhaps someday I will get to play the character of an Armyman and fulfil my childhood dream of getting into the Army," he says matter-of-factly. His electrifying personality is infectious and attracts more and more kids towards him. "I'm spontaneous with kids. I love to make them laugh and enjoy their antics," he discloses. He is a great music lover and digs in hip-hop, rock and retro. U2 is his all-time favourite band. Sid's deep desire of adventure sports includes skydiving and bungee jumping. He dreams of owning a super fast bike some day. Fitness is imperative for Sid, with the gym being on his "must do" list. "My favourite moment has been while shooting at Lonavala for Hungama Fungama. I was imitating Javed Jafri's role in Salaam Namaste, replete with horses on a horse ranch. It was mad and stupid fun," Sid says adding, "Another fun thing that I did during the show was acting like a Chinese man and teaching children to cook vegetable soup. I quite liked doing it as I can also cook quite well." If given a chance, Sid would like to indulge in social work and education for children as that's the perfect opportunity to do what he loves best, given his natural flair to entertain and relate to people. "You live only once. If you live it right once is enough," he says. |
