Shreya

Shreya..

ha ha ha... i knew this would come... of course there is a closure...

please imagine a high flying and extremely uppity corner office senior corporate professional who used to take pride in not watching tv considering it as an idiot box... despite having spent more than three years in the television news industry... who secretly considered her sisters and bhabhis crazy because they were hooked to star pluses and colors of this world and discussed tv actors as if they were their best friends...

Rangrasiya strangely despite being fiction.. was very similar to the equation me and my husband shared when we got married... hatred first and love later..

there were many other similarities as well...

this is the only show i ever watched on TV .. despite being from the media industry i would never respect any creativity on the idiot box..

but RR was a revelation to me.. in all aspects.. and when it ended.. i was so shocked..kind of stuck... because i felt as if something within me had been chopped off...

I was a nervous wreck and wanted to get out of it... and one of the ways could be doing something which ends this illusion of the characters being larger than life..

You know Shreya... life is full of surprises.. and for people like me who live in pressure cookers due to extremely cracking job profile... things happen unexpectedly... i fell for rangrasiya unknowingly but needed to come out of it as well...

For me a closure was when i would have met Mr Sharma.. whose character of Rudra had sucked life out of me... and i needed it back... and it happened... i met him in person... and am at peace with myself now..

No more anxiety and no more pangs to write angry emails to Raj Nayak...

Hope this helps..

BTW.. thank you for responding..

love u...

Beautifully written ! I could feel your emotions and i am sure every RR and Ashish fan could relate to what you have written.

I am really happy for all you lovely ladies who got a chance to see him up close, talk to him and also see him winning an award for a character he portrayed so flawlessly and put his heart and soul into. I am sure as an actor it must have made him happy that his work has touched so many people spanning age groups and geography.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us so vividly...it made us feel we were also a part of it 🤗

But what I don't get is that how did meeting with him help you find closure ? I am at a wits end, can not understand HOW meeting with Ashish will give closure to the pain of loosing RR? Can you also pl explain what is meant by " Rudra was him but he is not Rudra."
Sorry to bombard you with these questions.

Hi Lata,

Thank you commenting...

Very happy and pleased to see that you were happy reading my account. That was the exact purpose of this lengthy post..

i have pasted below my response to Shreya on the closure part for you...

So.. when i said Rudra was him but he is not Rudra .. what i meant was while i used to feel the character Rudra every where around me... Mr Sharma was merely executing it. by getting under its skin... this is exactly what a power house talent like Mr Sharma would do.. And when Rudra does not exist anymore.. i too should stop trying to infuse life in him again.. instead live with the beautiful memories of Rudradev and his Paro...

My response to Shreya below:

Hey Fiza,

thank you for your reply.

My two cents: since the show was merely two and half hours ... they skipped the major performances and saved them for the actual telecast..

i understand that two other actors' performances were also recorded..

In the world of television.. thanks to super intelligent technology... you can crop and paste any footage on the editing table to make a perfect video...

thanks

@bold, anytime☺️..

I am guessing Ashish is one of the few,if not only, male actor who has a legion of fans who are older than him and love him with all their heart.
