Thank you for this post. It bothers me when people say that Paro was weak, oppressed and let Rudra treat her like crap, while Myrah is tough and smart. Paro was the ideal righteous, loving and determined woman that is a rarity in women these days. Paro stood against Rudra too, but also with him. She followed her own mind and acted on them (e.g. exposing Mohini's laddoo debacle and Mala's return), no matter what anyone thought. She wasn't loud, brash or OTT. She was a quiet, yet focused and determined woman who brought immense love with her. Love that melted all those around her. She saw the good in everyone and everything. Sure, she could've screamed and cried at how much she endured in her lifetime, but she chose not to because she would rather move on to happiness, which she finally got. Paro was anything but a weak woman. She transformed the jallad into a happy family man, but who didn't revert into his jallad avatar once she left this world. His promise that she made him give is so powerful that he could never go back to the jallad that we all thought he would. That's how strong and powerful Paro was.
Myrah is a good character, but in no way is she inspiring or different from anything on Indian TV. She is the stereotypical Western girl that Indian TV depicts. There's honestly nothing fresh or interesting about her.
Not only was Paro the only woman for Rudra, she fit into the Rangrasiya story perfectly. In addition to being Parvati to Rudra's Shiva, she fit into the Ranawat khandan so effortlessly. She was the missing piece to Rudra's and the Ranawats' puzzle. Myrah, on the other hand, does not fit into the whole picture, no matter how many time leaps or how "modern" the show is now. Paro was the ultimate woman, despite very little education and world experience. She was a strong woman who followed her heart, stood her ground and loved unconditionally until the end.
