"THE BUDDHA once told a story about a young man who was a trader and had a beautiful wife and baby son. Sadly, his wife fell ill and died, and the man poured all his love into his little child, who became the sole source of his happiness and joy.
Once while he went away on business, bandits raided his village, burned it to the ground and captured his five-year-old son. When he returned and saw the devastation, he was beside himself with grief. He found the charred corpse of a small child, and in his desperation, he took it for the body of his son. He tore at his hair and beat his chest, and wept uncontrollably.
At last, he arranged a cremation ceremony, collected up the ashes, and put them in a very precious silk pouch. Whether he was working, sleeping or eating, he always carried that bag of ashes with him, and often he would sit alone and weep, for hours on end.
One day his son escaped from the bandits, and found his way home. It was midnight when he arrived at his father's new house and knocked on the door. The man lay in bed, sobbing, the bag of ashes by his side. "Who is it?" he asked. The child answered, "It's me, daddy, it's your son. Open the door."
In his anguish and confusion, all that the father could think of was that some malicious boy was playing a cruel trick on him. "Go away," he shouted, "leave me alone." Then he started to cry once more. Again and again, the boy knocked, but the father refused to let him in. Finally, he slowly turned and walked away. The father and son never saw one another ever again.
When he came to the end of his story, the Buddha said, "Sometime, somewhere you take something to be the truth. But if you cling to it too strongly, then even when the truth comes in person and knocks on your door, you will not open it."
Tennessean and UR, thanks for opening this thread ... as usual, great posts here.
UR, loved your quotes today ... all of them were simply wonderfully apt for the situation our protagonists find themselves in. 👏Hope, your post was awesome, made me re-evaluate some of my thoughts ... thanks for that!!!My take ...The good parts ...PaRud cuddling in the beginning ... any doubts? 😆 Major sa is beginning to get over his anger more quickly ... he gets angry, but if Paro is there to calm him down, his anger dissipates ... especially if she shows him again and again that her priority is him and only him. He should be no. 1 on her list ... preferable no. 1-10. Everyone else comes at 11 and below. The moment he falls below no 1-10 on her list, he doesn't like it 😛Rudra drags Paro to their room and asks her what she has to say ... instead of talking about Mala, she asks him about his letter. Again related to above ... as long as Paro's world revolves around him, he's okay. 😉 That calmed him down visibly ... but then his frustration took over again.I liked both Rudra and Paro in that scene ... I could understand Rudra's frustration and upset completely ... his desire to get away, get a breathing space ... empathised with him completely, and was mentally willing Paro to say 'Yes, let's go" ...But I also understood Paro's POV ... he's running away again ... the understanding that flashed into her eyes when he spoke about getting away from it all ... till that point she was all excited and blushing about the honeymoon talk ... but at that point she realised it wasn't about him and her ... that elephant in the room was very much there. And so her refusal to go, while it hurt, made sense. The so-so partsThe Mala-Dilsher-Paro first scene ... am not quite sure what Paro wants to achieve by getting Mala and Dilsher comfortable with each other. If she wants to get them back together, I'm not happy ... that's a matter between them, and she should leave it to them.If she wants them to get comfortable enough to break their silence and talk to Rudra jointly, as HIS PARENTS ... NOT as a couple ... then I can understand. CVs need to give more clarity on this issue, and NOT make it all about Paro playing happy families, and Mala and Dilsher getting back together. Also if the marriage going sour was because of Mohini playing games, then that part needs to emerge faster ... although I believe a marriage breaks up because of the two people in it, blaming a third party is a cop out.Mala and Dilsher are confusing the hell out of Rudra ... especially Dilsher ... the woman he spent the last fifteen years hating, he fed poison to Rudra about how untrustworthy she was ... why has he accepted her back so calmly ... why did he invite her back to the haveli at all?I can understand Mala keeping quiet ... after realising what Dilsher has fed Rudra with, she probably doesn't want to spoil his image of the only parent he has known for the last fifteen years ... but in that case, how can she expect Rudra to accept her back, without knowing the full truth? So both Mala and Dilsher are coming across as completely confused and clueless ... and poor Rudra is getting more and more confused in the bargain. That's why I feel that if Paro is doing this to get them to talk to Rudra, then I'm okay with her actions.Mohini-Rudra ... while it's always good to see Rudra win the battle of words against Mohini, isn't Rudra going to wonder some day why the people he loves, vis Dilsher, Danveer and Paro, are all on Mala's side, and the one person he detests, and knows detests him, are against her? I would really like to see him ponder that one!The not good partsDilsher slapping Rudra ... like really??!!! 😡 He spends fifteen years feeding his son lies that his mother walked out for another man, that she was characterless ... now when Rudra repeats his own words back to him, Rudra gets a slap?Besides, no parent should slap their grown up child ... under any circumstances! And especially not in front of their spouse.

Hi Diya,
You have a wonderful way of explaining things. You have a very good insight into things. I love the highlighted part.👏
Major is getting possessive day by day and he was just looking at the way Mala was caressing Paro's hair at that time. Yes, he wants to grab Paro for himself. Do we blame him? Paro Bai Sa is a very special person.⭐️
Rudra does want to get away from this madness but Paro realizes that he is running away. She does realize that is not going to solve the problem and she refuses to go. BTW, when they go to the Honeymoon, I do want to see Major and Paro spending time with each other and not thinking about their past. I am willing to wait for this moment but I want to it to be really good without any hindrance from the past or anything else for that matter.
I understand that Paro was trying to make a common ground and she did succeed in making Dilsher and Mala talk to each other. I totally agree with you if she wants them to get comfortable as parents or couple. CVs need clarity on this point.
Dilsher attitude towards Mala also surprised me and the only thing which comes to my mind is he really regrets what he did and wants to move on.
Diya- I think Mala is going to reveal her side of the story today in front of Paro and Rudra will hear some of their conversation and we can get a better picture.
I am positive KCM had a big hand in their split and that needs to come up front.
The slap will make Dilsher feel bad and I think he is going to start coming out from his side of the story. I hope we get to to know the true version and not some twisted version.
Diya- Thanks again for your in depth analysis. It makes us understand the story better.😊

Hey thanks for the thread girls, T and Shweta.
T missing your usual take with the acrostic.
Shweta, lovely collages, each collage of yours is a story in itself. About the quotes, nice pick, they suited the current situation very well.
Coming to the episode, who will not like Major cuddling with his Paro, it was well done. It's high time Dilsher owned to his mistake and come our clear with Rudra about his role in Mala running away. Not able to fathom why they prolonging this. Instead of making Mohini jab at Mala all the time, its about time the cv's start the adoption track for (if it's still on the cards) Mohini/Samrat/Mythilli and make Mala bond with Mythili too and send our PaRud out of haveli.
Malini
