I have to admit I didn't get beyond face value - thought you were extolling the power of three. But hey, if there's more to it don't please hold back. Am all intrigued now...

My favourite para has to be, actually there are many...but this one is a killer!

The dust flies as Rudra drives through the reth of Rann and its dry shrubs, sending dust flying in to our eyes, jhonking dhool into our and Paro's eyes as he makes his way along familiar roads to Laila's bistar...sorry, ghar. The ghar with the bistar...ahem...and the bathroom and some new clothes. Both son and Maasa have something for Laila's house...ahem...

Smitar/Sabs - Brilliant!

Did not know Whisper(s) can do wonders! (no pun intended)😛

Hey DD!! 🤗Delighted you enjoyed Smita's take. 😃
That whole para was just breathtaking. And that (bold) line was just so spot on!! What a coincidence - and so well caught!! 👏 Wish that Laila's mentoring of Mala would end now, but pretty sure it won't.
I'm all agog to witness the wonders of whispers uttered and suppressed tonight. Can't wait as a matter of fact.

I have a personal request for you. Can you please pass on to Smitha that I am VERY VERY mad at her? As in, seriously, playground level, katti-katti-forever mad? Because you see, she wrote Intoxicated, and got Rulama to post it. I read it, not realizing it was going to be one of Smitar's addictive one shots until I was half way through--and then of course, it was too late to not get addicted, since she laces her writing with crack cocaine or something.

I have been feeding my Arshi addiction for YEARS on her getting/ finding/recalling /etc Arnav/Khushi series, so when I realized she had turned her talents to RangRasita, I naturally distributed laddoos to my neighbourhood, because I assumed our peerless woman who so uniquely connects images with hilarious, beautiful, subtle text filled with romance and poignant beauty was now going to focus her considerable skills onto Rangrasiya.

And you know what i got? DO you? (and I think it was dedicated to you too, so maybe I'm mad at you as well, I'll think about it and let you know later) I got ONE more such amazing one shot on The Mat.

...and then SILENCE.

Not one more posting, not one peep, not, (god forbid I should get so lucky) a series, not even a one shot. God knows I stalked Rulama and checked her posts at the office everyday for two weeks, without shame, pride or good work ethics to stop me. Seriously, yeh toh full ramanchi hua, tvbug2011. Tease hai, aapki yeh guest-talent.

You let her know Monster's mad. And only a new One Shot (a series? yes! please! no? fine fine..one shot) will bring me back to the play-ground. Or its katti ALL around.

Bas.
Love,
-Navin

Navin baisa, I sooo agree with you. Exceptional, abundant, effortless talent. How I, much like her legions of fans, would love to read a series on PaRud by her. But the thing is, I know how busy she is - still updating a previous series on Arshi three times a week and now I've roped her into doing RReviews whenever she can, and her request of me is still pending. 😳 So, baisa, much as I'd love to read about PaRud, in all good faith and with the smallest scrap of shame I cannot ask her. I am just waiting patiently for the stories to happen whenever they do, because I'm convinced they will.
And baisa may I just say that your own literary, poetic, profound stories are equally captivating and satisfying - really, enjoying your Yesterday and Tomorrow series. May you carry on well beyond RR when it ceases. Your Arshi series are absolutely gripping too - I keep checking periodically for your updates. 😉 Addicts all of us, my dear...😆

Ahhh JK !! How did I miss that (slap to the back of the head)!!! Must have been too tired. In which case it's a good thing I didn't post. Thank you, thank you! Your revelations have shown me the scene in a new and guttery light! I will now take a short break to dwell on this new information in peace.

Smitaaa!! 🤗 What a fab post - funny and warm and razor sharp!!! Loved it - could and have reread it endlessly.
It was a decent episode. Satisfying for a good few reasons: One, because Paro told Rudra the reason why Mala ran away this time. Two, because Paro persuaded Rudra to go search for his Maasa flying in the face of Mohini's (unvoiced) wishes that Mala never returns and stymying that villain's plans to rule the roost. Three, because they actually (thanks to Aman) succeeded in finding Mala - Paro's way would not have worked. Four, because Paro yet again locked Laila out of the discussion and managed to get a private word with Mala.
Five because, most importantly Paro read Mala the riot act and asked her all the right questions - why did she abandon her son that first time? She knew that Mala still yearned for her son. Did Mala know her son still longs for his mother? Did she know he called out for her last night? And how did Mala become so hard-hearted that she was able to turn a deaf ear to his cries? That she would need to decide if she wanted to return to the haveli and to her son's life.
That, to me, was the highlight of the episode. The talking-to delivered in calm tones that made Mala rethink her decision, and without undue pressure was able to persuade Mala to return.
Six and the other interesting bit was that Mala decide to brave her son's fury and tell him all about her running away - the first attempt to bridge the 15-year gap, heal the wounds.
And seven, the precap!! It says something if the precap steals the show!! Romance afoot!!! And good enough to lure Smitar into making this awesome post.
Some of your many points that absolutely hit the spot:
@ Rudra's 10 heads: 👏 I was watching this with mom last night, and she burst out laughing at the many heads! I was speechless, trying to figure out if they were going for a head-spin, trying to signify Ravan or create a hole-in-the-head effect. Completely distracted me from the story at that point!!! 😕😆
@ Mala's variable height: 😆 Clearly Paro has no sense of height/length and perceived Mala's lack of inches in very complimentary terms. Not that the Major Saab would need such generosity of spirit, but, all to the good!
@ Tailors and assorted Tradesmen were unsurprised by Major Saab's re-entry: The only one seemingly put out was Major Saab himself. Needed Paro's support to make it to the door - who was he more reluctant to meet , I wonder, Laila or Maasa?
@ Laila's loss: Yet again, Laila baisa got nowhere, with her line of persuasion. Just another brush-off. He's got her made on this one. And so has Paro for that matter - all important conversations are now taking place behind closed doors.
@ Rusty jeep: I can think of a few symballisms here that I will leave unsaid. 😆
@ Mala's confession: How she thought that now she had her baby boy trapped next to her in the front seat with nowhere to run, she could start narrating her side of the story and he'd listen. Except that he isn't ready for that yet. Good try. But wrong timing! Still there's a longish way to go before the jeep stops and he can't very well clap his hands over his ears - she could have a go again.
@ Precap: Ahhh the highlight! See, the CVs also saved the best for the last. I have to say the gagging of Rudra intrigues me greatly. Why this double manoeuvre? Or was that supposed to be a mutual kiss - she kisses his cheek while he is forced to kiss her fingers instead? Hmmm 😕😃

Nice. @tvbug2011 miss your balanced and well written posts nowadays. Important track going on would love to read your thoughts on episodes.

Hey Sofna!! 🤗 Delighted you enjoyed Smita's take.
Yaar what is with this exodus??!! I'm really missing you guys and the Pursuit thread. Shreya drops in here occasionally, when I post Embarrassed. I've just been too caught up with a pending deadline and pressures of AD. So try and post when I can. How's life treating you? Where are you these days - anywhere else on IF?
