Hi everyone! *waves with both hands*
So, obviously, I'm a fan of Rangrasiya! This is just something I wrote. This takes place after Paro finds out Tejawat's truth. No attempted murder on Dilsher (because I love him too much). Rudra isn't super angry with Paro, but he's still...well Rudra. You can like it, make comments, or whatever you like. I'd be happy to hear from you! So anyways, here you go.

She had been pacing around the house for over two hours now. It was almost midnight, and Rudra still hadn't shown up. She had managed to clean every square inch of the house while waiting for him. Sleep refused to consume her until she saw him walking through the door, safe and sound. Parvati could still remember Dilsher's words as if he were standing next to her, telling her.
Dilsher had gone to the local market to get some groceries for her. He had found much of the market closed off however, due to a violent rally that had ensued moments before he had arrived. He watched with the crowd as a few men were arrested and placed in the police jeeps. When asking an innocent bystander, Dilsher had come to know that there were violent rallies occurring all over Chandangarh, and officers had been busy since this morning trying to break all of them up. Some officers were injured and gunned down, but no one was sure as to who exactly. Hearing this bit of information caused Dilsher to rush home immediately. He had no plans of dying in a rally anytime soon.
When he reached home, he told Parvati about what he had seen and heard at the local market. He watched intently as his beloved daughter-in-law's face went pale. She looked up at him from the stove, her eyes wide, almost in disbelief. Dilsher still remembered how she ran out of the kitchen, through the living room, and into the hall before stopping at the open door. Her hand gripped onto the open door tightly, in an attempt to control herself. He saw how she was, for some reason, trying to stop herself from running out of the house. Little did he know that if Paro's life wasn't in danger, she would've ran to him...ran down violence-filled streets to BSD Headquarters, just to make sure Rudra was okay.
Her gaze went to the clock. It was exactly 12:05 in the morning, and there was still no sign of him. She began worrying that the worst had happened to him. Her mind was racing. What was she going to do now? What would she do about Tejawat? Why was the feeling of no longer seeing Rudra hurting her? Paro stopped pacing. She was feeling pain. Not physical pain, but emotional pain. Unknowingly, she had worried for Rudra while he was gone. She worried whether he would call to make sure everything was okay. She worried whether or not he would come back in one piece. But deep in her heart, Parvati worried whether or not Rudra would come back...to her.
It was in the middle of this inner revelation that the doors of the mansion creaked open. Paro's eyes went to the door, and found Rudra walking in. Her heart took over as she ran up to him. He spotted her and halted in his tracks. She stopped a few feet away from him, and examined him from head to toe. There wasn't a scratch on him. She let out a breath, which she didn't realize she had been holding until that very moment. Paro still knew she had to ask. She wouldn't be able to rest until she did.
Looking into his eyes, she now asked the question she had been gnawing at her since she found out about the violent rallies, "Are you alright?"
Rudra stood rooted in his spot, staring at Paro. She was standing only a few feet in front of him, but it felt like they were miles apart. He observed her disheveled state. Her eyes, however, told him everything he needed to know. They were red, bloodshot from lack of sleep. She was watching him, staring into his eyes, as if searching for something. This was the same stare she had given him when he woke her from her unconscious state in the desert. It seemed that Paro was staring into his soul. A hard part of him was trying to understand what was happening, but there was one thing he could tell. In her eyes, he saw concern...for him. Rudra was so lost that he didn't hear what Paro said until she repeated herself.
"Rudra?" she asked.
He came back into his senses, "Yes?"
"Are you alright? I heard about the rallies."
"From who?"
"Bapu-sa."
"Oh. It wasn't as dramatic as everyone made it out to be. It was just a bunch of young teenagers that felt they were suppressed by the government and-."
"But...you are okay...right?"
Rudra nodded, "Yes, I'm okay. You look tired. Go to sleep."
Paro nodded as they both made their way to the bedroom. Her mind was now at ease, so she no longer felt the need to ask him anything else. To her, him being safe was all that mattered at the moment, but what bothered her was why it mattered. Who was he to her? Jallad? No. Protector? Yes...but there was something more. Was there still a distance between them? Before, Rudra hated the sight of her, but now? Now...it was different. Maybe, the distance between them was beginning to close. Before she could ponder the question further, her eyes began to droop and her body felt fatigued. By the time Rudra had come out of the shower, Paro was fast asleep on the mat on the floor.
