Thank you, I was about to give up on the forum yet again. Quite honestly I'm having a lot of trouble with the 'Paro is annoying' posts that keep cropping up.
Paro is actually strong and straight forward. She loves Rudra and like any woman in love she needs to hear a confession of love from him too...she's not asking for a twice daily confessional of undying 7 janam wala love - just a simple you matter to me because I love you, and what does he do instead? 'Whatever was/is between Laila and me (clever creatives don't say 'was' or 'is' so Rudra is saying was and Paro is thinking 'is') is nothing to do with our relationship - ok that can be taken as 'it's none of your business'. Still the girl feels a glimmer of hope thinking they have a relationship and before she can ask what relationship he says 'whether or not anything happens between us'😕 Is it any wonder Paro is confused and all over the place. After all if he can walk away from '8 saal tak har raat' without looking over his shoulder then where does she stand when her only tie to him is the red string tied around her neck and 8 vows to never be hers?
The cries of why doesn't Paro kick Laila out are getting on my nerves. Why should she kick Laila out? She thinks Laila's life is in danger and so does Rudra...Rudra hasn't told Paro why her being kept in the haveli is different from Laila staying there, if anything Laila is in more danger because she supposedly knows more about Tejawat.
More importantly though and this is what I find beautiful about the character of Paro is that it's not about sacrificing but to establish if there is even anything that might be sacrificed by Laila's presence. As Paro said 'love happens' and if it happens to Rudra for her then Laila makes no difference because she can't make Rudra fall in love with her. If Rudra doesn't love Paro then Laila's being there or not has no effect on Paro's life. So different from the cliched jealous heroines we see everywhere.
I'm hating the Paro versus Rudra atmosphere that some people knowingly or unknowingly create on the forum. Personally I understand Paro more than Rudra but that doesn't mean I don't understand the beauty of the character of the abandoned boy who chose the path of self destruction because until now he had no idea that he could be healed.
The creatives have made many beautiful characters so why can't we just let them tell their story without putting our own understanding and life experiences in the way. I even love the character of Laila as a woman who made the mistake of giving herself completely to a man based on the premise but not promise that if he couldn't be hers then he also wouldn't be anyone else's either - what insecurities would make a woman accept such a situation? (talking about the character here not it's enactment) If you don't understand Paro or Rudra then let the story unfold and perhaps you'll get an insight into a thought process that's different from your own. Also have to say the creatives have surprised us almost every step of the way. Last Friday Rudra was the one who couldn't be understood and now it's Paro's turn again. Honestly I too had issues with Rudra last Friday but then Monday was the day I learned to trust the creatives.
Sorry for rambling but just had to say it.
