To tell you the truth - I love Rudra so I can accept it when he says it meant nothing. But in real life if anybody (man or woman) has an 8 year relation and says it meant nothing, that it was a habit - I will have trouble believing. 8 year relation is not spur of the moment - right ? You kept on going back because you found solace. You found something there which was good. Don't we listen to music to take our minds off the everyday stress ? Don't we watch RR and other serials as an escape from the everyday problems ? Does it make them wrong ? Does it mean music and RR does not mean anything ? Tough for me to accept. But then maybe it is just me

Hi! 😃

I think the answers provided in this thread can answer your question...many have provided thoughtful answers and I especially liked ACTywm's detailed answer on page 4. Check it all out if you haven't already and are interested in doing so: Direct Link 😃

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share something...

I recently talked a non-Indian friend into watching Rangrasiya and she ended up loving it so much she watched all of the episodes in a few weeks...

She finally caught up today and when I asked her what she thought of the end of Friday's episode, she said that it did make her upset how Rudra didn't push Laila away in the end...but maybe that is because in that particular scene "Rudra feels like he has messed up too bad with Paro to ever redeem himself".

Her explanation for Rudra's actions - or lack of - is so simple but to me it makes a lot of sense and made me feel better.

Maybe in that scene Rudra felt like giving up, he began to lose hope and felt overwhelmed by his confusing emotions...maybe he really did feel in that moment that he was not going to get a second chance with Paro...and maybe the pain he felt from that thought made him succumb to the closest source of comfort near him - Laila. In that moment, maybe he was ready to return to his old ways...because he was hurting too much and in the past he went to Laila whenever he needed to stop feeling pain. So right then, maybe he truly lost all hope that Paro would "forgive him" or still love him...and he gave up...just for a moment...and sought comfort in Laila's arms because he came to believe that Paro's arms were no longer welcome to him...

I can't explain it but my friend's reasoning for the Rudra-Laila hug and Rudra's acceptance of it made a lot of sense to me. I actually really hope that on Monday the whole scene doesn't turn out to be a dream sequence 🤢

Without doubt Zee - the post by ACTywm describes it the best. All the different episodes connected well and explained. Thanks a lot to you for sending the link. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only problem is with Rudra's statement that it is was like a habit and no other strings or feelings attached

Hi Sush,

Missed RR and the forum and your wonderful posts...

Back now after a week's hiatus only to be greeted with an amazing 100th episode...the confessions of our flawed soldier, the first realization of Paro that her Rudra is not a God...he is human...

Sanaya and Ashish nailed it...that moment of shock when Rudra says "she accepted it".."she was Laila" the sinking of the heart...when Paro hears these words...you can see the fear in both their eyes...Rudra's fear of what it will do to Paro...Paro's fear of bringing down her husband from the pedestal she placed him. Her Hero was like any other man...who chose to bury his demons, and find solace in the arms of another woman...

"I had that relationship with her that I don't even share with you" ...these words hit Paro the hardest...and stuck with her...When she slumped against the door, it was just this revelation that hurt the most and she crumbles crying her heart out.

He says the relationship has no name, but in Paro's world it has...and that is of a lover, ek premi...the exact relationship that Maithli told her about...that she had to win over Rudra and find a lover and a friend in her husband. Hence she questions him whether he loved Laila. Because for her it was these two things she was seeking, hoping, longing for from Rudra. To become her friend and lover...Yet wasn't Laila exactly that? His Lover?

Now for Paro to fathom a man becoming a lover to a woman for 8 years without love is hard to digest or even believe. Her thoughts go back to their marriage vows...when Rudra told her he would never give her happiness...and he would never become hers. She knows and ponders over his moments of caring and would always protect her with his life, but the place of a lover that he shared with Laila was never going to be hers. Sadly for Paro the Laila revelation simply cemented his 8th vow.

I won't talk of the hug and stuff, too much said on that, even before the episode is aired. So let's wait and watch

Rudra told Paro he left Laila in Jaipur and came to Birpur. He had abandoned that relationship that he forged to get away from his past. And yet Rudra gave up Laila only to return back to the same dark past demons, roots and Paro. So does this not make Paro think since he has come back to his past and has not made peace with it yet, will he not want to turn to Laila again?

Right now Rudra is only wanting a maafi from Paro, and a sort of acceptance of his flaws but not him as a whole. He hasn't yet reached a point where he wants to make her his wife in the true sense. So for Paro to let go of him would not be wrong. In fact it now makes her decision of giving him up all the more firmer. Because that ray of Hope just died with the presence of Laila and Rudra's revelation. Sigh!

But I hope for one thing, and that is that Paro talks to Maithli about this, the only one who can make her understand that yes a man can have a physical lover-like relationship without any emotional attachment. Like a bad drug and a habit, something that he took to, in order to counter his demons, yet one that he gave up even before Paro came into his life.

P.S. - Such beautiful and amazing collages - UR - you are awesome!

and very body is beautiful in some way i mean some part of their entire being is very attractive , same with laila , i refuse to believe that in 8 yrs rudra didnt find anything in laila that left an impression

but saying that there are many marriages that fall apart because after years of togetherness people still dont find comfort or the soul mate connection , some separate some dont

this is mainly because the relationship it self falls apart , then it just becomes nothing more than a habit , people dont enjoy the others company still they put up

i think this is what happened with rudra , initally whatever was his reason for going to laila , after a point the relationship or the dosti like he says , fell apart , he wanted to get liberated and move on
he didnt have anywhere to go , as a mattter of habit he continued his relationship with laila

but the decision to move on is a difficult one , that is where i have a problem , it was not for rudra

one reason because they made laila dark making his choice easy

Cruelly ripped apart by confusion and torment

Only heaven can help out now!

Nothing did Rudra do maliciously

Forthrightness and honesty are his only armor

Except for physical solace, nothing did he seek from Laila

Solely from him, does he want his beloved Parvati to hear the story

Single-mindedly has he always pursued honor

In the depths of his soul, he craves to be loved for who he is

Only he knows the toll of maternal loss

Now all he desires is to be heard without judgment!

Sincere are her intentions, when she offers shelter

Happy is she in her ignorance

Ardent is her love for her spouse

Knowledge of the truth has yet to sink in

Enters the revelation, shattering her world

Nothing can stop the trembling!

Loved the B&W shades of Rudra...and such an apt acrostic...says it all...
