Hi Sush,
Missed RR and the forum and your wonderful posts...
Back now after a week's hiatus only to be greeted with an amazing 100th episode...the confessions of our flawed soldier, the first realization of Paro that her Rudra is not a God...he is human...
Sanaya and Ashish nailed it...that moment of shock when Rudra says "she accepted it".."she was Laila" the sinking of the heart...when Paro hears these words...you can see the fear in both their eyes...Rudra's fear of what it will do to Paro...Paro's fear of bringing down her husband from the pedestal she placed him. Her Hero was like any other man...who chose to bury his demons, and find solace in the arms of another woman...
"I had that relationship with her that I don't even share with you" ...these words hit Paro the hardest...and stuck with her...When she slumped against the door, it was just this revelation that hurt the most and she crumbles crying her heart out.
He says the relationship has no name, but in Paro's world it has...and that is of a lover, ek premi...the exact relationship that Maithli told her about...that she had to win over Rudra and find a lover and a friend in her husband. Hence she questions him whether he loved Laila. Because for her it was these two things she was seeking, hoping, longing for from Rudra. To become her friend and lover...Yet wasn't Laila exactly that? His Lover?
Now for Paro to fathom a man becoming a lover to a woman for 8 years without love is hard to digest or even believe. Her thoughts go back to their marriage vows...when Rudra told her he would never give her happiness...and he would never become hers. She knows and ponders over his moments of caring and would always protect her with his life, but the place of a lover that he shared with Laila was never going to be hers. Sadly for Paro the Laila revelation simply cemented his 8th vow.
I won't talk of the hug and stuff, too much said on that, even before the episode is aired. So let's wait and watch
Rudra told Paro he left Laila in Jaipur and came to Birpur. He had abandoned that relationship that he forged to get away from his past. And yet Rudra gave up Laila only to return back to the same dark past demons, roots and Paro. So does this not make Paro think since he has come back to his past and has not made peace with it yet, will he not want to turn to Laila again?
Right now Rudra is only wanting a maafi from Paro, and a sort of acceptance of his flaws but not him as a whole. He hasn't yet reached a point where he wants to make her his wife in the true sense. So for Paro to let go of him would not be wrong. In fact it now makes her decision of giving him up all the more firmer. Because that ray of Hope just died with the presence of Laila and Rudra's revelation. Sigh!
But I hope for one thing, and that is that Paro talks to Maithli about this, the only one who can make her understand that yes a man can have a physical lover-like relationship without any emotional attachment. Like a bad drug and a habit, something that he took to, in order to counter his demons, yet one that he gave up even before Paro came into his life.
P.S. - Such beautiful and amazing collages - UR - you are awesome!
hugs
