As IPL returned to India in Week 19 of TAM 2014, the Hindi general entertainment channels witnessed further decline in their viewership. After Colors, Zee TV also slipped below the 400-mark this week while Star Plus continued to be 338 GTVMs ahead of the nearest competition. Star Plus' weekday primetime viewership stayed ahead of Colors and Zee put together for the second consecutive week.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 19 of TAM 2014 (May 4 - May 10) for CS 4+, HSM markets, the pecking order of Hindi GECs remained unchanged. Star Plus remained the distant leader followed by Zee TV at No. 2 and Colors at No. 3. Life OK maintained its lead over Sony and SAB TV.
Star Plus recorded a gross viewership of 733 TVM this week. The relative share of Star Plus was at 30.47% (last week 746 TVM with 30.21% relative share).
Zee TV dropped further and slipped below the 400-mark this week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 395 GTVM with a relative share of 16.42% (last week 409 TVM and 16.57% relative share).
Colors lost maximum eyeballs this week and dropped further to 376 GTVMs. The channel had a relative share of 15.63% (last week 396 TVM with 16.04% relative share).
Life OK too recorded decline in viewership this week and dropped to a gross viewership of 348 TVM with a relative share of 14.46% (last week 360 TVM and 14.58%).
Sony's gross viewership was recorded at 286 TVM with a relative share of 11.89% (last week 291 TVM and 11.79% relative share).
SAB TV held its viewers and recorded a gross viewership of 268 TVM. The channel's relative share was at 11.14% (last week 267 TVM and 10.81% relative share).

MUMBAI: In the fourth week of the Indian Premier League (IPL), all the
Hindi general entertainment channels have seen a drop in their
viewership. Only Sab has just managed to stay at the same level.
There was no change in the pecking order, as per TAM data (sourced from
subscribers) for the Hindi-speaking markets for the week ended 10 May.
Here is how the Hindi GECs performed:
Star Plus is at top with 733 million GVMs (gross TV viewership in
millions), down from 746 million in the trailing week. It is still 338
million GVMs ahead of the nearest competitor.
Zee TV continues to be at No. 2 with 395 million GVM, down from 409
million.
Colors is No. 3 with 376 million, down from 396 million.
Life OK is at 348 million, down from 360 million.
Sony Entertainment is at fifth with 286 million, down from 291 million.
SAB is at No. 6 with 268 million, marginally up from 267 million.
