That said, a lack on interest shows up in the performance. If he is no longer interested, it would be best to quit.

This is probably gonna be an unpopular post, but I think Tarun quitting is his loss too. Tejawat is a supremely interesting character, whose story hasn't ended, so why quit? While it's clear the PH is trying to get the ratings, which is why Tejawat-Mala has been put on the back burner, they clearly haven't forgotten about him. He is mentioned quite a bit on the show.
I honestly don't and can't blame the PH because there is immense pressure on them to get the ratings and I sympathize with them. They haven't been able to tell the story they originally intended to because of these blasted TRPs. Even when Tarun/Tejawat was in the story, TRPs weren't moving, so they're forced to deviate on different avenues. There is obviously so much scope for Tarun's acting as Tejawat that I hope when the PH is ready to begin his track, he'll be willing to come back. It's a shame for the PH and him if he doesn't come back.If he doesn't though, it's no loss for me because as much as I love Tarun as Tejawat, I'm more invested in the character than the actor. The PH has been stellar in their casting choices, so if they choose a replacement, I'm sure they'll find a good one.
