Aha! Lovely! Love the way you write and the way you take us inside the heads of these characters.

Ek aur?
I love you more now...

'Sandalwood and roses' seemed to remain with me after I read Combust...

And now you combined this with gunpowder...

Just loved the way you blended it all...'they' smelled of sandalwood, roses and gunpowder..
Also, the thought that his smell is fading and her own smell is overpowering now...seems to her like he is slipping away from her...very nice touch!!
Also loved how you incorporated the mirror apology in to this story...

His pillow, his side of the bed, his aftershave, his shirts...and the lingering fragrances... I think all us girls have a crazy fetish...<shaking head in wry acceptance>

And how do you come up with these pearls??
He never said much when he was there, but his absence spoke volumes..

Enjoyed reading this so much...and so nice to know that you find inspiration to write, right at home!!

Love always,
Maya

Ohoo, Choti 👏
The shift was seamless.

It had everything. Love doesn't need words, not does a reunion.

Olfactory imagery, was excellent. And TBH smells are so reassuring. I know my mom has a distinct smell. The smell of food. First rain.

Frankly, I have amazing scent memory. Even an incense stick that was used ages ago somewhere, will trigger strong memories in me. This OS resonated with me, like very few do.
