@TM constructive criticism should be more welcomed in a forum

people are thinking you are advising just based on yesterdays episode but it is clear in your post that you are talking about her performance as Character Paro (from start to till date)

as everyone said this was wrong time to open this thread 😳

Sanaya USES a very limited range of expressions.I am not saying she HAS a limited range of expressions( for instance I think she was very good in the scene where paro puts a pistol on rudra's head) but I just feel she tends to stick to her umm comfort zone?...like she found some expressions that worked as drunk khushi so she had those expressions as drunk paro too. This predictability usually happens in emotional scenes and they are not her forte(comedy is..she seldom goes predictable when it comes to it).But paro has no scope for comedy so SI needs to up her game!

Secondly I understand she is trying to be subtle as paro as that is what the character requires but the subtlety is kind of an excess..it honestly comes off as just bland and thanda. Her critics say she went ott as khushi(may be she did but I think that was a deliberate attempt) and now there is just a bit too much subtlety. She needs to find some balance may be

😆

With due respect, I disagree with almost everything you have said.

Sanaya is one of the most versatile actresses on TV today ... the range of characters she has portrayed so far is itself a testimony to that.
Her drunk scenes as Gunjan, Paro and Khushi are all very distinct from each other and very much characteristic of the character she is playing at the time. If you watch them without knowing what show they are from, you can make out the difference in character very easily.

Emotional scenes are NOT her forte? 😲 This you say for an actress who has been voted as the most effective in emotional breakdown sequences in recent times. 😲
Speaking for myself, I find these one of her strongest points ... she can connect to viewers in her emotional scenes and make her audience feel her pain like very few other actresses can do. She tends to underplay her crying, and that makes her emotional breakdowns all the more powerful. I personally don't connect at all to the loud boohooing and sobbing that most actresses do on Indian TV, Sanaya's restrained sobs and quiet tears are far more effective .

Don't know if you watched one of the earlier offscreen interviews of Sanaya where she states that she is having problem with Paro, because she is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE EXPRESSIVE ... not her face, not her voice. She has to convey it all through her eyes. She has minimal dialogues in most scenes ... Rudra can rant and rave and shout 'khubsoorat aurat' till he's blue in the face, but Sanaya has to express only with her eyes, and that too, she has to make it subtle. She herself said she is not sure sure whether she's getting the expressions, and has to check the monitors whether what she wants to convey is shown. Because THAT IS HER BRIEF ... that is her character. She underplays her emotions here because that is what the director tells her to do ... of that I have no doubt.

I don't think anyone who has seen her in any of her earlier shows, can have an iota of doubt as to what she is capable of. Paro is foreign as a character to Sanaya, she is doing exactly what the director tells her to do. If the director wants more, he has only to tell her, and she will do so ... she has the capability and the talent. So I would suggest you address your critique to the director and the creator of the character.

Are you kidding? I found Sanaya to be a very subtle actress who emotes naturally. There is no plus and no minus to the degree... in fact its hard to find another Indian actress who does as well as her... in films or on TV. Well ok, I cant comment on TV to be fair, since this is my first experience... in films, I cant think of a more natural actress

surely in films, perhaps vidya Balan in kahani was the equivalent... but not anyone else...

Since we are talking acting.. I thought I would put in a 2 bit for Ashish too. he is a fantastic actor too. I would not classify him as subtle at all though. He is more flare and flaunt. Which is perhaps all good as Rudra... In the emotional/romantic scenes though perhaps there could be less ardour? or when he sees Mala's pic on the wall in the haveli his expressions could have been a little less?
Not sure if I am able to convey what I want to say... Sometimes ashish is trying too hard, and that earnestness comes through even in character...atleast for me...
but whatever! he is a fantastic actor and does a superlative job. and together they are mind blowing...
Atleast for me they have etched the characters of Paro and Rudra so well...

Everyone is requested to read a post properly before concluding that its a bashing post.

Just because you love a cast or love a character, doesn't means everyone should do the same. Opinion varies from person to person. Everyone need to be able to present your views in a way that does not offend or instigate anyone out here. There is something called "respecting each other's POV" and then either ignore the post if u don't agree with it or reply in a civilized tone without trying to mock the TM. We are monitoring this topic and anyone breaking the rules will get immediate action taken against them!

The main problem is the script of RR which is written with keeping in mind only the main Lead so when you don't show the emotions and character development of the other lead and start experimenting with her character whenever you like, discontinuity happens
Sanaya is doing a brilliant job within the limited acting scope she is being given
So instead of putting the blame on Sanaya, we should criticize the writer of the character Paro

I agree with you TM. But I am sure that this thread will lead to controversy. I am also a fan of Sanaya, but her role as paro is very disappointing. She excelled as Khushi but as Paro she is not impressive. I am not saying this because of the last episode. In many episodes her acting was not up to the mark.If she is an average actress I would not have expected much from her, but I know what she is capable of
I know many of her fans will bash us for criticizing her but the forum itself is an evidence for supporting ur statement. On daily basis I have noticed her admirers praise her beauty and cuteness but rarely I have seen discussion which appreciates Sanaya's acting in RR forum.

Sanaya Irani is a versatile actress and that is one reason I really love her! The main reason I like her is there are no traces of Khushi in Paro. She emotes so beautifully. So basically I think she is doing a very good job as Paro and can't agree with what you are saying.
