Your friend tells you, it's just 5 bucks to you but the biscuit company had to put in lots of hard work to manufacture that pack of biscuit, so you should just shut up and buy another pack of biscuit if you didn't like it. How will you feel?

It's the same here. The viewer just invested 30 minutes of his or her time to watch that show. 30 minutes may not look long enough to you, but the viewer had to forego something to spend that 30 minutes watching the show. It's none of his/ her concern how hard the production house worked to make that 30 minute show. To the viewer what is of concern is the 30 minutes spent and whether he/she got entertained in return, just as in the previous scenario what would've been of concern to you is the 5 bucks you spent and whether you got good quality biscuit in return. In fact, in the case of a TV serial it does not remain constrained to just 30 minutes of a single day, it builds up to a much larger amount because you invest 30 minutes everyday; and when the storyline goes bad, you feel you've been cheated out of the whole time that you have invested till then in following the story. It's just like buying a 1000 page novel, and after reading 600 pages, you suddenly realise that the author is taking the storyline to a tangent that is entirely unpalatable to you.

As soon as someone decides to sell their product or puts it up for public scrutiny, the consumers have every right to criticise it if they don't like it (just as they have the right to praise it if they like it). Here the production house is selling a product in the form of a TV show and the viewer is buying it by spending 30 minutes of his/ her time. That makes the viewer (the consumer) perfectly eligible to criticise it and you can't tell him/ her to just shut up and change the channel.

I'm stumped. That's fantastic reasoning! 👏

if you dont like biscuit x, you will whine about it and depreciate its value,
if you like it, you will wax lyrical, and everyone around you will help increase its value

consumers establish the brand,

but likewise,

Im buying the 1000 page book, because I liked its package and the synopsis intrigued me, I bought it because I want to read the authors story and not spin my own.

maybe my SUMO comment was not phrased in the manner I wanted to, so lets see if I can explain it better now...

"So if you dont like what you see, quite simple, change the channel and SUMO (shut up & move on) stop telling us about it" it being (how enraged over paro and rudras roles are, I give up, Im not watching anymore, I cant take it anymore, I dont tolerate this, crying emoticon everywhere...and then go beyond the extent of critique and just ridicule the program altogether) so no, I dont appreciate the negative reviews that have reached the extent of opinion based newspaper platforms that have the means to sway someone before they have the choice to make a decision for themselves, because I want to watch how this all unfolds.

I apologise if I have said something that has offended anyone, it was not my intention, but I am being honest about the way I feel, consumers are quite powerful in the fact that they can make or break, and is our goal not one where we all come together to ie. vote continuously for increase in rank and polls etc. and want our show to be outstanding, better than the rest, but continue harming it by judging its standards by our own ideals and not accepting the content shown to us.

I understand that you have reasons to llike the show and don't want to judge the1 000 pg book based on 2 pages
I respect that , and I expect the same when I make a genuine opinion , and not to be told to shut up and.switch

And cvs working hard I simply don't buy for one low viewership results in shows going off air not criticism

Audiences want entertainment

the story: isn't it a team effort- the channel, the production house, the creative team and the synchronization within?

I think once you show the possibility of hitting a sixer, the team gets positively motivated and with a good show, at every stage, wouldn't it raise the bar?

All these shows are about love stories with elements of drama, but I believe it's how inversely they are told that makes them top shows on a channel. Any good writer knows the trick lies in telling the same story differently. The channel makes numbers, the industry gets employed, and viewer gets entertained.

Is it so hard to just watch it and see how it plays out rather than questioning logic (logic that we all know has no bearing in saas-bahu entertainment) and not having faith in people who have created the story?

The answer to rthis is given by the mmoderator
I buy even 1$ product I can have an opinion about it , my opinion is more important to the makers their e opinion to me
I will nother buy.it cos it is just 1$

Because they don't have a option I do and they donor pay my bills
Criticism is a part of making the product better
Same across every industry where there is a client or customer involved
Motivating them , it is revenue , popularity that Is a motivator which is dependant on viewership
