Hi LOL! this is jung ka maidaan and I am your BSD officer SJ.
Some comments made me Laugh, i avoided reading the others cos there are lot of people here who make sense too. When did the trend change on IF.

I read one where you were told "dekhna hai toh dekho" SO COOL! there is troll matter I'll be back when "LIFE" stops being so happening.

I am smelling this to be a smashing hit post.

There are enough stories in tv..which is written from the female point of view...Balika vadhu..is one..
We have the choice to watch it..
Just because we deign to watch RR.. Why should it be exactly what I want..
Is exactly what I want .. Same as exactly what u want or is it exactly what she wants..
Frankly there are enough issues to debate upon will modi come to power... What if...

I don't want to say it but GH has said it nicely... dekhna hai to dekho..

Hi MSIN. I just saw this post.
I know each of us can exercise our choice using remote, but its nothing wrong in giving feedback is it? I can understand your sentiments if SJ here had suggested changes in plot or how Paro's character should be developed, or gone to the extent of giving an ultimatum that if things don't change she will quit. All she shared was simple, honest feedback, that too 3 months after the show began.

I guess what Im trying to say is that, there is nothing wrong in giving feedback. Feedback is different from ultimatums. If we all didn't views things differently the world would be a very boring place.

Absolutely true. we are not here to give ultimatum. We are not trying to hold the writers hand here. If you see each and every post in this thread,... you will see that they have expressed their opinion as how it looks, nobody is threatening the makers with ultimatum. Its plain and simple feedback or POVs. .. as how it is ringing with us viewers. If we don't like what we are seeing, i still own a remote control and we have other programs running at that time. like GH said dekhna hai to dekho... the same here applies, feedback chahiya to lo.. if not don't.. no force. there is no rule that we have to like everything we see.

@bold- Can I just acknowledge some very real telepathy here? I was having this EXACT conversation with another friend a few days ago.

@italic- LOL. I am physically incapable of having a continuously serious conversation on MOST things-- definitely RR.

Yeah, Stripe, She's a bi*ch.

(Sigh. I can't even... WHY do we waste time reasoning on this forum?)

Last question, first-- because we have WAY too much time on our hands. 😆

And, honestly, I don't care about who ships whom or doesn't. I can't dictate anyone's ships, and I don't like people dictating mine. I don't necessarily ship Laila-Rudra even.

I just have this stick up my arse about how unfair Rudra and the creatives are to Laila. Rudra, by trivializing what he had with her, and the writers by taking the easy way out and turning her into a psychotic vamp.

I would dearly love to be proved wrong, of course, and there still IS scope for that-- but I don't know.

And if anyone's primary argument is 'Oh! She always knew the score.' or 'He never PROMISED her anything.' or even 'Rudra needs a pure soul to heal him, not a naachnewaali.'-- I exit that debate. I don't believe in standing on one leg outside people's houses.

Whattay Post SJ👏 as usual raises more questions than we have answers for Kudos Bows to thee Encore comes to mind Will this be also as epic as your other in another I hope so and so well articulated

SJ I did not see the episode on real time as I was busy being patriotic and carousing in a sports bar cheering the India South Africa T20 semi final Came home a bit pickled and thought let me continue with my night of fun by watching RR on my DVR By the time the Dori tying scene came I realized whatever jubilation and high I was feeling from the win and the booze would evaporate leaving me rather dejected so elected to hit the sack while still feeling good inside I watched it the next day and ok another time another forum I would have been screaming from the roof tops at the utter butchery of what could have been a potentially powerful track but now older wiser ( ok who am I kidding) truth be told real life issues akin to Rottweiler's biting into my keister have kept me too pre-occupied and I am thankful for they have kept me grounded to terra firma and I am able to view RR dispassionately these days and just view it as a habit and ok among the fare of desi soaps on offer this seems to be the more interesting and exotic for now

I found the RR promos intriguing SI reeled me in because of her last hit show I stayed because I was awestruck initially by the method acting of Ashish and had my own phangurling phase over Rudra for a very short while Thankfully I was not active on IF during the first few weeks of the New Year or I might have just shocked everyone by my action of opening an AT for Rudra My reputation as being strictly non phangurl of actors irrespective of gender would have taken a severe beating and one from which I would have had no escape You have no idea how much immunosuppressive drugs FLS was subject to so that FLH (hormonal could live out her fantasies for a while till good sense prevailed read FLG and FLS clunked her on her head and equilibrium was restored) I was smitten by Tarun and his natural talent and fascinated by Ananya's style and genius and enjoyed watching SI in a role that seemed in direct contrast to her other iconic character The costumes the settings the ambience all spelt quality and luxury there was the promise of a very interesting tale and the talent of the ensemble cast seemed huge I was satisfied for a while till the rosy glasses got all grimy and I removed them and now I wonder is this history repeating itself I am no longer a phangurl period the shock and awe of viewing a Indian method actor on desi TV has evaporated My Eyebrow Romeo is MIA and I find the constant repetition of many situations really off putting like they are stuck in a revolving door and don't know how to get out All I want now is the story that I was promised but cannot see in the quagmire that is RR now I expected class not crass

I have always felt that Rudra has been written by a team of writers with a PHD in his character not just that but had an array of books bibliographies cheat sheets (saw Napsters post) and other tools so the only thing I don't know about him is his line of underwear ( or does he ever wear one ok digressing) They have superbly sketched out his pain his ethos his trauma and having a Method Actor like Ashish only adds to the cache

With Paro they got a rookie intern and probably gave her/him a blank white notebook un-ruled so they could scribble in whatever they felt her character should react or change as per the TRP or circumstance Ok I may be a bit judgmental here I think but ST has a penchant for creating larger than life Male Characters He writes them super hot and gives them all the weapons of emotional verbal physical empathy in his arsenal so that it strikes a direct chord to the viewers who immediately sympathize and feel for the hero even if his thinking is skewered and beggars belief I feel again SI has risen above a shoddily written sketch in her portrayal of Paro Any other actor in that role and I would have cringed at that PDA scene but she brought an Anna Scott feel of I am just a girl ...with her expressions and body language The glow and aura of love around her as she spoke out her hero worship of him was too real so I could forgive her It is a pity that they do not want to seem to write powerful sensible scenes for the FL like they do for the male I think a world of difference in that PDA scene would have been an accidental uplink by one of the TV cameras as she spoke somewhere to him privately making the whole spectacle of them together public would have infinitely been kinder to her character and plausible and that Doll and Major wanting to grab it in public Augh!

What have they shown about Paro life and journey? They gave her a couple of nightmares which the writers have gotten amnesiac about There has not been one powerful soliloquy to reflect her own soul ache her very short lived marriage before being plunged into a state of widowhood her abandonment by the village and her father figure If you really look close she cuts a more tragic figure of loneliness than Rudra who has his dad and for a while Laila for companionship till his breakup What happened after she discovered the truth of her father figure she smacked him on the head went off to cry and presto Rukmani the Prozac Butterfly arrives and she is ready for her next adventure

The Creatives's are using the Just for Today prayer opening lines

Just for today,

I will try to live through this day only,

and not tackle my whole life problem
at once.

as a way of moving her character forward without having to spend time stationery and energy on her part of the character sketch and gave her Rukmani the Prozax Butterfly dispensing her choice of happy pills for her to get through her PTST and grief and that is why the TRP in not rising at all in proportion to the expectations My Rajasthani neighbors who watch anything on Mharo Rajasthan have gone off it as they find no connect with the FL pain or the lack of it I should say

I was very surprised how quickly they wrapped up her feelings over the duplicity by a paternal figure that she was so hell bent upon shielding even at the cost of her death In real life considering her trauma she has all the makings of a disgruntled postal worker sort who when the day of reckoning comes when she explodes will take half the world with her and leave the other half maimed

They did not capitalize on SI emotional acting chops Her internalization and newfound discoveries over her current status quo with Rudra would have made a world of a difference before her next act of hero worshipping her savior We could have found reasons there for us to resonate with her actions no matter how ludicrous

I am still surprised that she wanted to quit the show after the business divorce of Nautanki over concerns of her character portrayal as I still find they have not paid sufficient attention to her scenes so probably something must be interesting for her to think of such a risky move I for one was on the point of quitting RR for I be no phangurl of either of the actors or characters that I could put a spin and story be damned till I read that snippet and was curious enough to stay on You know every time I think I am getting Paro the writers do a romanchi and I am back to square one clueless She was far more spunky and readable during the interrogation track Once inside the haveli she seems to change colors just like her attire and while I am all for the non crying feisty FL please do it in a way that she resonates with us directly without having to second guess and come to IF to read hidden meanings and symbolisms which I have come to loathe after another show

My fear In the name of Divinity and penance Paro will be made to go through a vicious redemption track in the name of wooing Rudra I wish folks would stop comparing their story to Lord Shiv and Ma Parvati for a penitent Paro to seek Rudras forgiveness He is no ascetic and has had a woman as his companion for the last 8 years unlike Shivji who was a one man one woman and grieved for the woman he lost and trying to bring comparisons of Sati with his mother makes it disgustingly oedipal And the only other woman I can think of is Laila which makes the comparison even more bizarre

Parvati rocked and ruled not just his world but the entire Spiritual Universe so please do not mess with religion

What Penance should she do to atone for what sin? She got him his job back restored his honor and that of his slain colleagues Is in the process of healing his father and already clues have started appearing to show her innocence so I don't understand how her phase of penance is coming up so she can win her Lord Shivji when her mistake was a lapse in judgment of a father figure which all of us anyway are guilty of at one point or the other in our lives and saying Paro is too pure does not cut ice with me

Please stop using religious scripture to lend credence to what essentially is another skewered love story of a man who hates to love and a woman who loves to love The Gods will take offence bas😡

They have made Paro a child woman look at SI expression very indicative which means she is still at that bus stop stage of their meeting Love is not there but tons of hero worship coupled with maternal instincts Her first huge massive crush infatuation phanki gurling for her God ergo major saab and when the day comes she realizes he be human and a terribly flawed one I see the Rudra coming back and with the choicest swear words that will be beeped out But for now they have given a free ticket for her to be called characterless shameless hoe with no repercussions because she be in love period and all is fair in love and war

This show is right now soulless to me with the balances being too lopsided and the credibilty low You cannot pull the boat with just one rudder no matter how good it maybe Even my most favorite male centric show Dexter although the basic premise is about him and his dark passenger has more heart Deborah Harry his dad Rita his late wife etc all are beautifully written with no shortchanging and had great depth to them which is why Western TV shows give me more viewing satisfaction in terms of actors and their roles Homeland is my fav for female centric show

Sadly I am no phangurl of characters or actors and more of a story which RR seemed to be spot on when it debuted but now floundering for direction I find the 11pm show far more balanced and entertaining Never thought a day would come I would be watching a serial by the Queen of Twists Turns and Terrible Tales but am and most enjoying it

I like watching desi soaps where the leads are evenly balanced out and I see both points of view just like another show for the first few months that gave me such pleasure till 11/28/45/60 eternity days happened

Thanks for giving me the space to rant and SJ sa I have been floundering over my connect with Paro so wondering which post of mine was insightful😛

And now off to read the other 20 odd pages and have an intuition I am going to be loving it

P.S. Not just Paro but Mala and Laila are also the victims of the creatives Both have such immense potential I feel Laila is better written although the treatment meted to her character has been to cliched but Mala portrayal has me climbing the walls😡

The strangest thing is, these posts use dismissive words and call you stuff, even when you're being civil. I've learnt when to, as you put it, exit such debates. And did they HAVE to put Paro on one leg, while they put Rudra on a pedestal? That precap was the millionty-th time I face palmed. I'm missing chunks of episodes coz I face palm way too much these days.

@FLS: Word. That was a PhD standard speech, which totes summarises 20 pages. The "grimy rose tinted glasses" was a stellar line. Among the women, Mohini is probably the most consistent. I also don't understand why a veteran like Kali Prasad Mukherji is a vegetable on the show. Why wouldn't they exploit his acting capacity? If he decides to quit tomorrow, I wouldn't blame him. It's as if they're beating quality back with that iconic danda.

Thank you and I really needed to rant😆
I agree they are not using the talent that they have at their disposal to their fullest I real miss those days when Paro and Dilsher made for heartwarming viewing and when Major Aman and Paro were a team although not on the same side Even the Rudra Laila scenes made for some interesting viewing at times before Haveli entry

As for Laila I have always stated I have no issues with her relationship with Rudra but after his marriage I will call it the romantic in the Grinch that wants some escapist fare non reflective of every day reality The creatives have also meted out rough treatment to Laila as well by reducing her to caricature of a dance girl 😡
I have put a poser in one of the posts you have replied would love your view 😈

Laila always was the seeti-bajao female for me. I, for one, am invariably interested in these "side" characters because they have a story. 8 years is a long time. I can't believe such a relationship can only be a no-strings-attached one. StripePurple pointed out, in the Pre Paro stage, Laila was a confidante. That's completely true. When did she become this evil witch, who would wanna spoil Paro's face, and carry a dagger for back up? I had thought she'd be smart, at the very least.

Laila seems amnesiac. She's done nothing since haldi. How she's accomodated after the wedding, is too far to speculate. I don't even want to spend time on that, because I'm bracing myself for a disappointment. *Yet, I swear I'm no abandoning this show- lest anybody goes dekhna hai... on me*

I shall now return to hyperventilating for India.
