I was waiting for this ... and after the update, I'm even more impatient for the next 😆
Aman ... have I mentioned that I love your Aman? Seriously I adore him ... and with every update, I love him more and more ... in a completely sisterly way 😆 Love his protectiveness towards Paro ... I LOVED that he was the one to unshackle Paro and carry her out of the room, while Rudra was trying to kill Jasheem ... I loved Aman's fierce anger at Rudra for not even asking once about Paro.
Aman doesn't realise that Rudra's guilt extends deeper and more gut-wrenching that even his own ... that Rudra for the moment, cannot bear to allow himself to think about Paro, and what he put her through.
Jasheem ... this man sends shivers up my spine. What a well-written villain ... utterly cold, calculating and devoid of any humanity whatsoever ... ready to sacrifice his own wife and family without compunction, to save himself. Cold, calculating and very, very clever ... single minded purpose ... and that purpose is his own self. A completely hateful psychopath ... a man who loves to kill, maim and torture. No reason, no excuses ... he just likes to kill. He likes seeing the pain of his victims. A sadist to the core.
And I loved the bit you put in there about his grudging respect and wonder about Paro ... how dare she not be scared of him? That hurt his pride, his ego ... because that's what he thrives on ... the fear and terror that his victims feel for him.
The BSD ... loved the way you put in how every man in the BSD, from junior to senior, from officer to janitor to chai boy, were all asking about Paro ... were all drowning in their own share of collective and individual guilt at the torture an innocent girl went through, and none of them did anything to stop, despite their gut feel that she was innocent.
Do I blame the seniors from higher up for not bothering much about Paro? Not so much ... they didn't know her personally, as these people did ... and their duty is to concentrate on the bigger picture. For them, she is just another statistic. They do not know her, they did not interact with her, they had no way of understanding whether she was guilty or innocent. But the ones who had met her, did ... and they are the ones who feel guilty. Because her innocence was obvious to anyone who had actually met her ... yet none of them did anything to stop her torture. That is a heavy burden for any decent person to live with.
Rudra ... I told you once I hated your Rudra 😉 I still do ... though I can feel the stirrings of guilt inside him. He is suffering ... but I want him to suffer more ... a few flesh wounds and nightmares are not enough.
And finally, the most important person ... absent in this update, but around whom the entire update revolved ... Paro. Love the way even in her absence you've shown how she has entered the hearts and minds of almost everyone who ever came in contact with her ... and won their respect. Even the respect of a psychopath like Jasheem. 😕
I hope we see some of her thoughts and interactions with others in the next update ... I can wait for PaRud, because I want Rudra to suffer more ... but I would love to see her with Aman, with Constable Ram Mohan - another guy I love! ... even with Col Singh.
This is the longest comment I have ever written for an FF ... I can never write long comments ... but this one forced me to 😛
