I have a very hectic schedule and I hardly get to watch the show on colors and Thankfully, I am not a TRP viewer.
Believe me, it often becomes difficult for me to watch the show, but I still make it a point to watch every single episode whenever and whichever way I can...sometimes the repeat telecast, but mostly online...because I love this show very much. Sometimes I am only able to watch a whole week's episodes over the weekend. I wish there was a weekend omnibus...but sadly, there isn't.
This isn't just my issue...I lot of viewers might be facing similar problems.
Despite watching the latest promo online, I wanted to watch it on TV. I tuned into colors several times over the weekend but I couldn't catch it even once.
The promo is very, very intriguing and it is high point in the show. It will surely pique the interest of many people...even non-viewers...IF they see it.
What is point making such an exciting promo, if it's not shown often? And how will people know about it, if they don't see it? With the ongoing T20 world cup, chances are a lot of people will miss the promo.
RR is a huge success with the online fandom and it is doing great overseas. Even though, TRP are in no way an precise measure of a show's overall popularity or how good it is, they are given still given importance. And every show needs equal amount of promotion irrespective of what the content is, or how the ratings are. RR already has a steady viewership but being on such a competitive slot, RR needs all the promotion it can get in order to attract more viewers.
Why is it that other shows with marginally higher TRPs have more number of repeats and higher frequency of promos? I am not averse to the promotion of other shows and I have nothing against them. I am just curious as to why RR is not getting the promotion it requires?
Moreover why are chunks from the episode edited out during the repeat telecasts? If people miss the main telecast and they don't watch it online, they wouldn't even know that 3-4 scenes were missing. How is it fair to the audience?
So it is a sincere appeal to Colors and Tequila shots, if you are reading it, please do something about it. I don't understand workings behind the promotional strategies, and honestly I don't want to. My only concern is the show that I am watching and I do wish a wonderful show like RR gets the promotion it deserves.
