This is genuine constructive feedback on RR. As most of you know I have been watching the show religiously from day one. Im yet to miss an episode of RR so far.
Rang Rasiya is a beautiful show, each frame looks stunning, each of the actors essaying different roles are par excellent, most of the roles are multi-layered. Some of the lines are well written and the interaction between the leads are very very engaging.
But still RR is missing something, what is it?

I feel the story is stuck at a place and is not moving forward. Lets assume I watched the show there weeks ago and missed all of the episodes until I watched the episode yesterday, What have I really missed? Three weeks ago the wedding was declared, Parvathy and Rudra hated each other, she considered him as the man who killed her husband and he considers her as the woman who has helped an enemy of the state. yet there has always been this unexplainable feeling that binds them together. Move forwards three weeks, the characters and the story line are at the same place. While I genuinely appreciate the nuances of each of the episode and gradual character progression, how many people do we really think would have this kind of patience?

I'll give you an example of my mother who is YRKKH, loyalist. She doesn't watch her show in terms of the characters. She describes her show in terms of conflicts and resolutions. 'Oh akshara's son is hanging out with the wrong group at school, 2 weeks later she tells me that Aksahara finds out about this and complains to the headmaster putting her own son in the line of punishment.' And then she moves on to the next conflict.

The recent split between Saurabh and Abhinav might have held things back for RR as even the other show had a big drop in the ratings.

I hope now that the situation is clearer the writers can improve the pace and at least resolve one of the conflicts from the many they have introduced so far.

feel dress to agree or disagree.

I been thinking the same as well it's also the reason for why TRP aren't moving up much at all. But ratting is decent it's not at all bad for a colors show now if it was SP that would have been low ratting.

I fell it's high time they wrap up this Tejawat/Captive track and move on to track 2 the story is still stuck at track no.1 The show is too slow placed.

In brief ... as real life is catching up on a Friday evening 😛

I do feel that a few things have held back the story progression, unfortunately they came one after the other, almost at the same time ... the ST-AS split, which was the biggest one , Tarun's paternity leave, and Ashish's illness. The cvs managed the last one, Ashish's illness well ... and this week things have been moving slowly and surely to the climax planned for Mahashivratri ... so I hope the story is back on track and things progress. We've had enough of the captor-captive situation ... need to move ahead to the next phase.

Most successful shows have tracks ... one problem is presented, dealt with, and then they move on to the next ... it allows the viewers to stay connected because they see the problem, and then the solution within a few weeks ... viewer gratification and satisfaction at seeing good win over evil ... winding up tracks quickly and giving a good closure while opening up the next track, that always has the viewers coming back for more.

Totally agree... There is absolutely no movement as far as the story development goes...

Only two things (small) have happened recently- we got to know thakurain is rudra's mom.. and rudra to a certain extent seem to understand that paro is innocent and is just being blindly loyal...

There are so many issues to be resolved... paro's misunderstanding needs to be cleared ( reg. tejawat and varun both)... Tejawats' role have to come out in open... Thakurain's presence need to come out in front of rudra and dilsher... Her story needs to be revealed to us and them... Mohini's role in any of this... laila's role in their triangle and how Rudra tackles it...

Then finally Paro and rudra have to come out of their inner demons (paro regarding her love/loyalty to her dead husband and rudra regarding his mistrust in women) and then find and love each other as their life partners...

Can't they at least move one part of all this...

The mind of an Indian soap watcher who makes TRP is a mystery to me...some times very mundane stuff...and very ordinary looking characters with not too much acting talents generate big TRPs😲
BUT...
I think ...I can say...
People want to watch, characters and stories they can relate to...even if the stories shown are not dramatic or their problems not significant in the big picture...In fact...more day to day issues...probably attract more viewers...
The other end of it is historic and mythological stroies that attract viewers because how exotic they are...
RR has to identify itself...what is it about..

Sometimes I think what's lacking in da show that da trp's are low, but den da trp's have been like dis since da beginning, so I'm thinking maybe people don't like dat RR is a dark tale? Wen I watch other shows dey seem to be stuck in da same limbo but have a dramatic affect but den RR does have a dramatic affect, so kind of confused. Anyway great post.

I think it is something more than the pace.

1. I completely agree that not many significant events have happened. In fact, I had actually missed a few episodes in between, and I caught on pretty easily. Now I don't particularly mind this. I LOVE a show that has nuanced characterisation. I like it that SOMEBODY in the soap world is loyal to the story.

2. Problem is this- there are too many conflicts: Rudra's mom, Tejawat's plans, Mohini's plans, Paro's clueless dilemma. These conflicts were introduced pretty much at the start of the show, bang on, all together. Instead of waiting for things to unfold slowly, there is this stream of issues to tackle. Maybe it is a conflict overload without the viewers completely understanding/relating to the characters, yet. Hence, we keep having discussions like is Rudra abusive, or desperate?

3. Bigger problem- NONE of the conflicts are getting resolved at all. It's just going one rasam to the next, reiterating the elephant in the room. It is natural that anybody would find it stagnant.

4. To cover Ashish's illness, and the split, they introduced some really interesting tracks. Be it Maithili's kidnapping, or Mohini's plotting. They were resolved in such a contrived and convenient manner, I was disappointed. I thought they could have done a lot with the goon in captive, with Maithili's kidnapping, and maybe brought in Thakurain a little later. What was the point in her visiting the haveli when nothing much came off it?

5. Character development is slightly uneven. What Ashish gets to do is brilliant. His is the best explored character as of now. But Paro is relatively understated. There are times when I find Mohini way more fascinating than Paro.

6. They have left Laila hanging in the air. That character has such potential. I would like to see more than her limited plans of acid-haldi. It's too trivial. She deserves more respect (because it's unfair she wasted 8 years for Rudra), or at least more attention. Maybe Ankita needs to improve on the acting front, but the character Laila should not be reduced to just a conventional vamp.

What I'm trying to say is, the story is caught in a vortex of motives- cliches for the TRP janta, or a strong story; quick pace or detailed exploration; subtlety or in-your-face drama. They could, maybe, introduce one conflict at a time and resolve it, and then move on. But that won't be a food-for-thought watching experience for me, personally. I know they want a larger than life portrayal, but they should really stick to one path.

Yet, I do think this is one of the better shows on TV today. TRP or no TRP, they are doing a good job.

The storyline of this show is definately darker than the usual hindi soap and the layering of the story is complex. What I feel is that the CV's have opened a lot of tracks but so far no track has been closed. Some tracks need too ...it will also simplify the story.
Excellent post NBsa 😊

i think they were establishing the characters in the first two months, so that's why may be they were stuck in the wedding track, hope now the story spice and speeds up
But I have a problem with scene durations, some are too long, it gets boring😔
